If you like female superheroes then this was a good year at San Diego Comic Con for you because on the one hand Warner Bros. gave us the first Wonder Woman trailer, and on the other Marvel Studios introduced us to Captain Marvel Brie Larson. But come on! We know that there’s been one superheroine that’s been kicking butt since the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and for years fans have said that she deserves her own movie. Scarlett Johansson‘s Black Widow getting the solo spotlight she’s earned is still sadly a long way off, but if Marvel is interested, a director with a proven track record in the MCU might be willing to help make it happen. SDCC would not be complete without a healthy dose of Joss Whedon. The creator of Buffy, Firefly, Dr. Horrible and Dollhouse, and the director of two Avengers movies treated fans to a concentrated panel of everything Whedon. He discussed his upcoming projects in the comic book world and expounded, quite eloquently, on the meaning of life. (more…)
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns tonight on ABC promising some epic developments in regards to Deathlok, blue aliens, the identity of the Clairvoyant and other bread crumbs dropped throughout the series so far. There’s also the more pressing matter of the fact that the show hasn’t been picked-up yet for a second season yet, not an unusual situation for a Joss Whedon show, but a pretty bizarre predicament for the most heavily hyped new network show of the 2014/15 TV season. It’s pretty unlikely that S.H.I.E.L.D. won’t get a second season, circumstances at ABC are that dire, but a couple of the show’s key producers want you to know that they need a second season in order to make the show you want. The first, in what will undoubtedly be a long trickle of Director Joss Wheadon’s The Avengers movie clips until the movie’s May 4th theater release, has hit the Internet with an astoundingly bouncy Black Widow (Scarlett Johannson) beating the crap out of some goons, eastern European goons from the sound of the stuttering general’s dialogue.
This might well be the last clip this NerdBastard looks at for The Avengers. Not because I hate what I saw, I liked it, but I don’t think I want to know anymore than I already do about the movie.
What do you think about this clip? What character clip will you be unable to resist taking a look at?
We’ve entered the “Oh crap isn’t the movie out yet” phase of our long wait on The Avengers movie. The teasers are out, the trailers are out, tons of still images, now we just have to endure the repeats until opening day. In a way that’s good. Who wants to know every little thing about a movie before your butt even hits the theater seat?
So now we go about our daily lives catching these featurette’s where the stars and producers of the movie talk about:
How great the whole cast was . . .
How great the movie is . . .
How great the doughnuts on set were . . .
How great their costars are to work with . . .
How great the greatness of the great things were . . .
Just gotta hold out until May 4th. You can do it, stiff upper lip and all that.
Are you a parent who happens to be a nerd and is trying to teach your kids the alphabet while introducing to many things awesome about the nerd and geek culture? Well Neill Cameron has you cover as he has done something so epic that he needs to be paid for this. Really, the internet has brought us many awesome art stuff this year, but this, this really just beats them all. Neill Cameron drew letters from the alphabet and drew what ever sentence was born from that letter and us fans gets the honor to look at pure awesomeness that was produced from this. Really, take your time after the break to look and read each letter because it really is nothing but pure enjoyment. (more…)
