Wonder Woman is making a comeback on Netflix:
The failed pilot from David E. Kelly, starring Adrianne Palicki, was never finished (thank gawd!) and axed before NBC could further embarrass themselves. However, word around the nerd water cooler is that it may become available on Netfllix.
I was looking for Captain America on Netflix to see what it said about a release date even though it’s not even out in the theaters yet. It has a picture of him with “NR” (Not Released) next to it…Then I searched for Lynda’s WW… It says NR too. BUT it has Adrianne Palicki’s Wonder Woman on there as well with NR next to it!!
He isn’t the only one though, as GloriaofGrayskull from the mattycollector forum also spotted this:
Today I searched for wonder woman on netflix site and it seems like they are going to release the new pilot in dvd I added it to my queve/list of dvds everyone add it so that there is high demand for it!
I think we all want to see the pilot episode, much like how we all just have to stop and look when we pass by a car crash. Morbid curiosity. Do these reports mean we’ll actually get to see it? Don’t get your hopes up. Netflix is notorious for listing shows and movies in advance in order to gauge interest. This is probably just one of those cases. This of course doesn’t mean that the show won’t ever be released as is, or get picked up by another network, or see an eventual release on Netflix. The point is, don’t expect the new “Wonder Woman” pilot/series to be actually available anytime soon.
The character most fans cannot wait to see come to life on screen in Green Lantern isn’t Hal Jordan or the Guardians or Abin Sur, it’s Kilowog. And, he’s being voiced by the incredible, Michael Clarke Duncan. Honestly, could they’re have been another choice for Kilowog? On a recent Attack of the Show, Duncan shared the first clip of himself training poozers, in this case Ryan Reynolds,
What a badass. If this movie fails in every other way, I have faith we’ll still come away loving, Kilowog. Also in this clip is another chance to see what the Lantern’s constructs look like. While I think it’s weird they all have a shiny, smoky effect I’m hoping in the universe of the film it looks right. Comparing them with my memory of comic book illustrations and cartoons, it still kind of looks funny, but I really want the movie to prove me wrong.
(Isn’t Michael Clarke Duncan awesome and adorable?!)
Green Lantern opens June 17th, and fellow DC fans, wouldn’t it be great if the only DC flick out this summer whooped the collective ass of Thor, Captain America and the X-Men?
If there is one thing Green Lantern won’t disappoint us with it’s their aliens. Fans of the corps know the interstellar police are teeming with all sorts of different races and it looks like Warner Bros. new movie is chocked full of diverse aliens. MTV’s Splash Page is releasing summer movie goodies all week and their first exclusive is a preview of the corps’ line-up.
The promotional banner features 12 members of the elite Green Lantern Corps including Hal Jordan, Sinestro and Kilowog. Click the above image for a larger, hi-res version. Can you name the other nine lanterns?
I’m really digging how they’ve individualized each Lantern’s costume and I’m impressed with the little skin the lady aliens are showing. Shocked, in fact. I guess they’re not Star Sapphires so of course they’re more conservative of dress . Sheesh! Can you imagine what those CGI outfits will look like when and if they introduce the Sapphire to the film series!?
The first Green Lantern trailer didn’t ‘wow’ us. The second, with the included Wonder Con footage, blew us away. Warner Bros. is trying very, very hard to make sure this movie doesn’t suck. And they’ve got a lot working against them considering how much of what makes Green Lantern spectacular will be in the special effects. Too add to their ever swelling post-production budget Warner Bros. is throwing in another $9 million.
We shouldn’t be worried though, this sudden influx of more cash doesn’t mean Green Lantern is a heaping sack of crap. Chris de Faria, Warner’s executive VP of digital production, animation and visual effects said,
There is no problem on Green Lantern … We try to add things to make the movie better until the 11th hour. That doesn’t mean we’re risking the movie up to the 11th hour. When the bar is raised, we can’t refuse to jump over it.
Well, hopefully they know what they’re doing. We won’t know for sure until Green Lantern opens in theatres across the country, June 17th.
Click the jump for awesome new posters featuring Kilowog and Sinestro. The Kilowog one is perfect, can’t wait to see the big guy on screen!
Adding to the news that broke earlier this week that Michael Clarke Duncan would be voicing the alien Kilowogin the upcoming Green Lantern movie, Deadline says that Geoffrey Rush has already provided the voice for Tomar-Re, an alien scientist who works alongside Hal Jordan (played by Ryan Reynolds). Rush is such an amazing actor, and will be amazing in the role.
So, unlike Kilowog, it appears that Tomar-Re is already voiced, which is a huge relief. But, it is still officially unconfirmed.
It is a little disconcerting that so much work is being done so close to the release date this summer. Hopefully, when a new trailer comes out soon, it will be able to raise my excitement for the movie.
The biggest news is that everyone’s favorite Martian Drill Sergeant, Kilowog of the Green Lantern Corps, may have a voice. The Latino Review says that it may be Michael Clarke Duncan, who actually has the perfect voice for such a no-nonsense character, but emphasizes that the deal is not yet finalized.
This actually worries me.
The Green Lantern movie is coming out this summer, and it is almost April. Doesn’t that seem a little close to the wire for casting the voice of a major CGI character??
According to Blastr, Warner Brothers (the production company which has spent over $200 million on the film), is distinctly aware of the lack of media buzz.
Speaking to the press during this year’s CinemaCon—in which the various studios parade their wares for those who own and operate movie theaters themselves (and choose what film plays on which screens)—Warners’ worldwide marketing president, Sue Kroll, acknowledged the missteps that came with that first look at Lantern:
“Part of the reason the response to the first trailer was lukewarm was that the big-scale sequences weren’t ready to show, and we suffered for it. … We can’t afford to do that again.”
Think about it. All we have seen of Green Lantern is the one trailer, which was cool. But, the CGI effects, especially on the Green Lantern outfit on Ryan Reynolds, was shockingly very poorly done.
What do you think of the distinct lack of buzz around Green Lantern? Are you still excited to see it?
Yesterday we saw the release of the most recent DC Animated film, All-Star Superman (which I reviewed over here) and boom, just like that we’ve got the trailer for the next film. Green Lantern: Emerald Knights will be an anthology of tales, much like Batman: Gotham Knights, and will tell the stories of six of the most famous Green Lanterns. And apparently if any more animated films come out with ‘Knights’ in the title expect much of the same, at least that’s my guess. Most importantly this film is finally giving us Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan, something fans have been squawking about for some time. I understand he’s too old to play Hal in a feature film, like the new Green Lantern coming this summer, but come on! Ryan Reynolds already had a super hero movie he needed to make, Deadpool. Which I hope still happens even with him putting on the green ring.
This trailer is heavy with the animated action and looks like it’ll be great collection of Green Lanterns, including Abin Sur (Arnold Vosloo), Sinestro (Jason Issacs), Kilowog (Henry Rollins) and Arisia (Elizabeth Moss). I’m really impressed by this line-up of actors, especially Arnold Vosloo as Abin Sur. He recently did the voice of Black Adam in Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam and was phenomenal. You may know him better as the Mummy from The Mummy films, go figure. And who plays a better baddie than Jason Issacs? Come on, Lucius Malfoy, that dick British officer in The Patriot, he just makes villains so easy to love.
Watch the trailer below and lets us know if you’re as excited as I am! I mean, this looks way better than the summer release of Green Lantern, just saying.
