Tai Yasue, co-director and game designer of Kingdom Hearts III, revealed in an interview with Kotaku that the Marvel and Star Wars properties (characters and worlds) are being considered to be included in the long-awaited video game sequel. The first game in the series was released back in 2002, and many thought it sounded like a conceptually bad idea mixing together unrelated properties such as Disney and Final Fantasy properties. However, it turned out to be a huge success, warranting a sequel in 2005 and also several spin-offs and remakes.
