It appears as though fans of the X-Men character Gambit can finally have some solid expectations for a Gambit solo film. Again. Gambit is one of the more interesting members of the X-Men and many a fan favorite, with his Cajun heritage and past as a thief. After the success of the first X-Men movie in 2000 (which helped to usher in the modern age of superhero movies) many fans have been waiting for a great live action version of Remy LeBeau. Sixteen years, one terrible version, and coming up on nine movies later, fans are still waiting. After many stalled starts and cast and crew uncertainty, the movie is finally set to start filming with star Channing Tatum.
Generally, there are two types of people who go to see “Bond Films,” those movies that feature Ian Fleming’s super-spy James Bond: those who are Bond superfans, and those who are not. Whether you’re an action-film fan, you just enjoy seeing the latest and greatest releases, or you are the significant other of a Bond superfan, if you fall into that second category, you will likely be left wanting by Spectre, the latest in the 007 mega-series and current Bond portrayer Daniel Craig’s fourth outing in the main role. If you’re a Bond superfan, however, this movie is going to give you all you can handle, and then maybe just a bit more for good measure.
Nothing starts a morning off right like news of badass ladies up for a badass role in a badass movie. The shortlist is out for the female lead in Gambit, and it does not disappoint. Among the trio of names is Rebecca Ferguson, who you may have most recently spotted in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. And spoiler alert: Ferguson isn’t the only Mission Impossible alum on the list!

The answer to that question is teased as a resounding ‘yes,’ in the new trailer of Spectre, the 24th Bond film (the 4th starring Daniel Craig) and the eagerly awaited follow-up to Skyfall. The new trailer reveals more about the mysterious villain played by Christoph Waltz, who may or may actually be the iconic Bond big bad Ernst Blofeld, but he does take responsibility for being the cause of Bond’s pain. What oh what does that mean? And why is Bond going rogue again? Answers (maybe) below…. (more…)
Back as Bond, and back in black, Daniel Craig strikes a pose in the above picture from Spectre, the 24th film in the long-running James Bond film series. There have been some social media snippets released from the set, but this is the first “official” photo from the film, which is currently shooting at locations all around the globe. It’s hard to think of a setting more evocative of Bond than the Alps, in this case, specifically, the Austrian Alps, and the last time Bond went skiing on film has in 1999’s The World is Not Enough so it’s about time! So get you skis shined up, grab your Walther PPK, and hit the slopes with the cast and crew of Spectre in a new behind the scenes video. (more…)
At a massive event at Pinewood Studios‘ 007 Stage this morning, the regular pre-principal photography press conference for the latest James Bond movie unveiled everything you need to know about the 24th outing of Her Majesty’s superest super spy. To say that there are high expectations for this latest Bond film, even higher than there are for the average Bond film, is something of an understatement. Skyfall, which expertly marked Bond’s 50th birthday back in 2012, was the most successful in the franchise’s history and at over $1.1 billion in tickets sold worldwide it was the ninth highest grossing movie of all time. As we all know, Daniel Craig is returning, and director Sam Mendes is back, and in the case of Bond 24 it seems that Spectre is also back. (more…)
