leaked footage

With Star Trek Into Darkness having already released over seas there’s not only plenty of buzz surrounding J.J. Abrams Star Trek sequel, but spoilers and leaked footage abound. This is a little of all three. The consensus among those who’ve already seen Into Darkness is Benedict Cumberbatch‘s He-Who-Will-Not-Be-Correctly-Named villain is a triumph. And I don’t doubt it, the man’s clearly made some kind of deal with the devil for his exquisite acting talent.

Warning, as if it weren’t already obvious, but this scene is one not released as a promotion clip so it definitely contains SPOILERS. Also, caution, auto-play.

J.J. Abrams isn’t happy we’ve seen photos of Zachary Quinto (Spock) and Benedict Cumberbatch filming an epic fight scene on the set of Star Trek 2. Well, he’s really not going to like this. Here’s video of the two battling it out, complete with an annoying Hollywood insider-type voice over. Enjoy.

That annoying voice over does make some good points, though. If Cumberbatch’s character is able to hand Spock such a spectacular beating he can’t be human, can he? I really doubt he’ll end up being Khan because that seems weird, but whoever he is he must have superior strength. Also, judging from the wind machines this set piece is probably supposed to appear high up in the film. Either it’s a ship’s exterior or some high up platform.

Cumberbatch spoke with MTV News a bit about his role, but more so about filming with the cast and crew of Trek 2,

I think they are brilliant on that show, and it’s a real privilege to be on that set. There’s a patter and a kind of knowledge of who they’re playing and the other main characters, which I’m learning a lot from. It’s just good fun. It’s great to work with Chris. He’s very professional. So is Zach [Quinto], who I’ve been working a lot with; I adore him, he’s a brilliant, brilliant guy. I’m kinda getting busy with the film now. I’ve been away doing other things – ‘The Hobbit,’ which was fantastic. And so my part of the film is really sorta kicking in now. It’s great fun, great, great fun. But what I’m trying to say is it’s a great thing to come into something that everybody’s familiar with and knows each other very well. So it’s [in] a weird way a very easy thing to get up to speed with, because everybody is so welcoming and gets along with one another.

After the video and the photos I don’t believe Cumberbatch could be playing any role but the villain. What do you think? Hell, he might be making a career of villainous roles if the rumor of him playing The Doctor’s arch nemesis, The Master, in the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary is true.

After the reveal of the hotly anticipated Catwoman costume, which sadly was a bit disappointing, we can now share footage of Catwoman in action. Well, footage of her stunt double in action, as in the action of crashing into an IMAX camera! Eek! Hopefully Christian Bale didn’t bitch her out, he can be a little testy on set, or so I’ve heard.

This video comes from TMZ and shows Catwoman on the Batpod, cruisin’ down the steps of city hall as revealed in set pics last week. As you can tell when you watch the clip it does appear Anne Hathaway‘s stunt double crashes into a camera. You can even see shrapnel!

Sources close to production tell us both the camera and the cameraman were not injured during the incident — but if you look closely, you can SEE camera shrapnel … and fixing those things ain’t cheap!

A rep for Warner Bros. had no comment.

Whoops. Check it out below.

I’m sure it’ll look more awesome and climactic when it’s edited into the picture. But what do you think about the talk people just aren’t as impressed with what’s been leaked about The Dark Knight Rises thus far?
