Empire Magazine has done the nerdy among us a solid by posting the entire score to The Dark Knight Rises by Hans Zimmer to their website, free for all to listen. You won’t be able to download the music or buy it on vinyl (yes, vinyl!) till next week, but why buy tomorrow when you can listen today?
The score is really, truly epic, and listening to it stand on its own as a piece of really great music, it makes me even more regretful that The Avengers had such a forgettable score. Zimmer seamlessly combines cues and themes from Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and entirely new music created for TDKR to create a truly fantastic sound to accompany the film. Considering what he’s done with the Bat-music, especially with this latest score, I’m really excited to see (or hear, I guess) what Hans will do with The Man of Steel next summer.
