The Interwebz is a great place for nerdy art and the like. A lot of the time it’s fuckin’ weird shit like Steve Jobs and Jack Layton partying it down with Michael Jackson and Patrick Swayze and other shit like that. But there are a lot of awesome things that we see on a daily basis, and we’re lazy nerd bastards so we just round them all up once a week for your nerdgasm glory.
Starting off this week, we’ve got this kickass fan-made poster for The Avengers. No idea who did this, ’cause I found it cited under “Hobo123” of DeviantART, but that profile has no work on it. So I’ll leave it open-ended for now, but this is a pretty damn awesome poster.
The guys and gals at Playstation have had some awesome commercials in the past, they’ve made tons off their character Kevin Butler, but this takes it to a new level.
The premise: A mass meeting of characters from every major franchise in the Playstation catalog thanking the gamer “Michael” for saving them, or their world. The actors playing said franchise hits are damn well spot on too, going right down to the finest details of each character.
Sure, they are doing this to sell games, but to have characters like Drake and Kratos saying “thank you” to someone who spent hours playing them is pretty touching. See how many cameos you can spot.
Makes that ass dent in your couch worth it now, doesn’t it?
The game Little Big Planet (and its sequel, Little Big Planet 2) are games where the impossible can become possible.
The key to the franchise’s success is simple: user-generated content. Using the game’s controls, you can make any level you can think of using the in-game tools.
But one thing I bet you did not know is the sheer range of levels users have created, even going so far as to create homage’s to movies, such as to Back to the Future. User Rigzz created an amazing video showcasing the climactic scenes at the end of Back to the Future using only the video game.
Little Big Planet is one of those games that could be a hit or miss due to its floaty platform physics but it is one of those games that Playstation 3 owners must try once, especially trying those downloadable levels that shows the strong point of the game. And hey, girls dig the sack, Sackboy that is.
With the recent release of Little Big Planet 2, a group of awesome fans created their own Little Big Planet level but with a twist. That twist is that it was created in real life. That is right folks, Little Big Planet in real life. It may sound silly but with all the details they put in the video, from the sound effects to all the paper craft that looks like stuff from the game, this video is simply AH-Mazing!
Start your Monday right with this video as it’ll leave you smiling like it did with me and seriously, if you own a PS3 and haven’t tried Little Big Planet yet, well it’s never too late to get some sack in your lives.
Ya know, it’s been an awesome couple years of video games. Batman: Arkham Asylum, Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock, Dead Space… the list can go on (and if any of you nice readers likes to buy these games for this poor bastard, contact me). Each having its own fun gameplay, good story, and of course, nice graphics to look at.
Well, junkboy has been making images of todays popular games in 8-bit form, pretty much giving them a demake look that older gamers will appreciate. He’s done quite a lot of them, like the Red Dead Redemption one above, so check after the jump to look at all of them and see if your favorite game is on there. (more…)
