machete kills

This time on The BastardCast, Jeremy and Jason are up all night to get some… cheese fries. They’re also talking about Jason’s adventures in the big city during New York Comic Con and all the big comic book news that came out of the con, as well as the week’s biggest nerd news stories, and that one time when people were doing it in the movie theater while Jason watched Machete Kills. (more…)

nb-Movie-Review-Machete-KillsIf you unscrew your head from your neck, Machete Kills comes off as a surprisingly deft and explosively cheesy action film with more comedy than you would expect. On top of that, I think I’ve forfeited my chance to be buried in a Jewish cemetery, because I once again LOVE Mel Gibson. Also, there is a 21% chance that there may have been fucking during my showing.

Go ahead, try to avoid clicking ahead for more now.  (more…)

Machete Kills - Danny trejo and Michelle Rodriguez

With it’s release date looming (October 11), it’s nice to see the people behind Machete Kills aren’t going to mess around and leave anything to our collective imaginations. Oh sure, some movies rely on things like teasers and trailers and little featurettes to slowly build hype before hitting theatres, but not Robert Rodriguez et al. Nope, so far they have released so many clips from this Grindhouse inspired sequel that I am guessing only about five minutes remains unseen.

Why tease and titillate a film audience when you can let it all hang out like it’s last call at a Tijuana saloon and the donkey has already left…

Up after the jump we get treated to Charlie Sheen with the absolute best presidential campaign ad featuring a machine gun (sorry John McCain), Michelle Rodriguez sports an eye-patch and shows us how when one sense is lost another grows stronger, and finally, a wonderful re-enactment of grandmas old saying ‘don’t get distracted by cleavage and hairspray.’

It’s more fun and dismemberment with Mexico’s most-feared ex-Federale, Machete in Machete Kills, the follow-up to the grindhouse-esque tribute film by Robert Rodriguez, which is in theaters on October 11. To get you warmed up for the film, a new red band trailer has just been posted to the internet, and IGN is bringing it you, via us.

So what wonders does it contain? Well, there’s some prime slices of ham courtesy of Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson for one, at least two kills by chopper blade, as well as some, uh, high-caliber gun work courtesy of Sofia Vergara.

But why take my word for it, roll the trailer below to take a look:

Machete Kills, starring Danny Trejo and veritable ton of the hottest women in Hollywood, is out on October 11th.

Robert Rodriguez‘s Machete Kills has released another clip featuring all the Grindhouse glory that you can stand. It’s got everything: bullets flying left and right, armored cars and funky vans, beautiful women in outrageous leather outfits with particular body parts hanging out (those chaps must chafe like hell), and some weapons that defy description.

Watch the video and join me on the other side,

Because – someone – demanded it, everyone’s favorite federale turned Terminator is returning to screens this fall with Machete Kills. The new trailer just released for the sequel starring Danny Trejo, directed by Robert Rodriguez  and reveals more *ahem* plot details about the movie. As well as giving us a look at some of the cool new action sequences, Mel Gibson‘s villainy and Sofia Vergara‘s lethal, um, double-dees. I think if you’re a fan of the first Machete, or the antics of one Carlos Estevez, you’ll probably find something to recommend in this trailer.

So without further ado, let’s roll the YouTube embed…

Plot Synopsis – In MACHETE KILLS, Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent MACHETE, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

Machete Kills costars Lady Gaga, Cuba Gooding Jr., Sofia VergaraVanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Edward James Olmos, William Sadler, Mark Zaror, Demián Bichir and Jessica Alba, and opens October 11th.

With so much buzz surrounding the once parody trailer turned film franchise Fantastic Fest, the largest film festival in the U.S., will feature the film as the festival opener. This week on The Bastardcast, Jeremy and Jason talk about Grumpy Cat the cinema film, the chances that Dan Harmon will supplant Moses, the cost/benefit analysis of seeing a movie solely for Starbuck side-boob, and the uselessness of time capsules.

Also on the show: Fans call in to make Jeremy eat strange things he finds in his office, Jason juggles a set of flaming balls, and the fella’s both discuss the Xbox One and learn that lying is wrong.

Then, Jason uses up his remaining 20 seconds of Doctor Who rant time to talk about racism in the Whoverse… quickly, and in Trailergasm, the boys celebrate the Taco Time cross-promotion with Machete Kills and the death of innocence with Planes.

You require more sustenance? Fine, grab a straw and suck because we’ve got Whoopi Goldberg riding a dinosaur into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, concerns about a new race of sex crazed lady folk, the Kickstarter of Porn (Melissa Joan Hart, there is still hope for you!) and the guys loved Arrested Development and want to tell you all about it.

All that and the death of a beloved character for no reason at all on The Bastardcast!

The Bastardcast, sprinkles make everything better!

Robert Rodriguez‘s latest grindhouse style movie, Machete Kills has a new trailer out. It’s in Spanish, (We’ll post the English version later today when it hits the Internet), but you’ll quickly get the idea even if you don’t speak Spanish. Danny Trejo is back in all his magnificent gory glory as Machete and he’s got another bevy of beautifully dangerous women surrounding him.

Ex-Federale agent Machete, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

UPDATE: Here’s the U.S. version:

This looks gloriously campy and fun. Grab a tub of popcorn, an enormously over-sized soda, sit back and enjoy the madness and mayhem. This film isn’t going to win any Oscars and that’s just the way we like it.

Machete Kills hits theater screens on September 13th, and also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Carlos Estevez, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demi’n Bichir, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Marko Zaror and Mel Gibson.
