man of steel 2

With a full fledged sequel to Zack Snyder‘s 2013 Man of Steel (reportedly) back on the DC Extended Universe’s ever fluctuating film slate, the assumption was that Zack would be back to bring the next Superman solo movie to the big screen. Well, that might not be the case. Collider is reporting that ‘sources’ close to the Warner Bros. Superhero films are saying that the top choice is for another director to helm a second outing for the Man of Tomorrow (in the current franchise.)  (more…)

As we are now full on into the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) with the upcoming Wonder Woman and Justice League films coming next year and more films following, fans wonder “What about Superman?” After all, Man of Steel pretty much kick-started DC’s shared universe. Surely Superman was going to get another sequel. A little while ago there were rumors that there would, in fact, be a second solo film for Kal-El (which means he’s not going to stay dead of course). Now it looks like those’s rumors are bearing fruit.

DC’s ambition to craft a full-blown cinematic universe immediately after Man of Steel hasn’t exactly been working out for them. Both Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad, two films fans insisted would improve upon Man of Steel, fared even worse with critics and audiences. As of right now, a combination of studio interference and bad creative decisions are causing an unfortunate cycle for the DCEU. (more…)

There has been much discussion and dissection about the possibilities of a Man of Steel 2. At present, no where in Warner Bros‘ exhaustive list of upcoming movies based on DC Comics movies, is there a release date for a sequel to Man of Steel, even though the movie was good enough to inspire a whole interconnected universe of movies. New rumors have pointed to the possibility that Mad Mad: Fury Road director George Miller was being warmed up for Man of Steel 2, and then almost as quickly it was suggested that Man of Steel 2 was being put on development ice. As it turns out though, Zack Snyder says that Man of Steel 2 is much closer than you think… (more…)

Despite the fact that this whole DC Extended Universe began with 2013’s Man of Steel, the next phase of a solo Superman adventure seemed oddly an after thought during last year’s announcement of the DC Entertainment film slate through 2020. Sure, Supes is one-half of next year’s Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and he’ll almost certainly lead the two-part Justice League movie, but Man of Steel 2 or whatever it’s going to be called – well, “limbo” would be a fairly accurate description of its current status. But now we get word that the situation may be simpler, and the news from Warner Bros. is that if you’re holding your breath for the next Superman standalone, you should probably stop. (more…)

Hey, here’s a good idea, Larry Fong said this morning. I’m going to practice some of my kick ass card tricks, take a picture with my phone, and post in on my Twitter account. Fair enough, it’s a Tuesday after all and sometimes you have some time to kill. Except Fong is the cinematographer on Man of Steel 2 (AKA: Batman Vs Superman), and everything he says and posts is under the watchful eye of fans worldwide, so when he posted a picture of a playing card stuck in, well, something, the crowd went wild. But relax, it’s exactly the opposite of what you might think it is. (more…)

And Here Is Ben Affleck As Batman

Looks like Zack Snyder made good on yesterday’s tease to reveal a better look at the Man of Steel 2/Batman vs Superman Batmobile, to bad some yahoo from Boston is wrecking the shot. Granted that yahoo is Ben Affleck and he is wearing the new batsuit.

We’ve been waiting almost a year to see how our next big screen Batman will look… ready? (more…)

With production on Warner Bros.’ Man of Steel sequel inching ever forward, anticipation has been high that we might catch a glimpse of some of the film’s key elements, particularly anything related to the new cinematic Batman. I will not lie, each and every day I sit in front of the internet with the small hope that today is the day that we see the new Batfleck Batsuit or a batarang or… Hell, I’d settle for just about anything with the prefix of ‘bat’ smacked on to it.

Well, moments ago the man behind the still untitled Batman vs Superman movie, Zack Snyder, tweeted out a teaser showing (mostly) the new look of Batmobile. (more…)

…Batgirl! Kidding. (Hopefully.) The recent announcement that the Academy Award-winning actress Holly Hunter was joining the cast of the Man of Steel sequel (AKA: Batman Vs Superman) understandably dredged up the curiosity of fans wondering who the venerable Hunter might be playing in the comic book movie. One website thinks it has the answer, and if they’re right, then it’s an intriguing bit of detail from Batman lore for the filmmakers to include. Who are we talking about? Well, keeping in mind it’s only a rumor, read on to learn the answer. (more…)
