We’re really beginning to close in on that The Dark Knight Rises release date. July 20th is only about a month and half away and will be here before we know it! Have you made your midnight showing plans?

AMC has announced they’ll be hosting a maration for the midnight release of The Dark Knight Rises, a la the Ulimate Marvel Marathon for The Avengers. Unfortunately, their website doesn’t specify if it will be a marathon of all three films or only The Dark Knight and Rises, but come on, The Avengers got an all day marathon! Batman deserves at least an eight hour stint ending around 3 a.m. which is what a marathon of all three films would come to with Rises’ runtime being 2 hours and 45 minutes.

That’s pretty yummy runtime if you ask me.

Tickets go on sale June 11th at noon E.S.T. Who’s going? The Marvel Marathon was a blast so I’d highly suggest this Bat-marathon.

Whedon Picks the 10 Best ‘Buffy’ Eps

LOGO and Joss Whedon are teaming up to run a marathon of Whedon’s top 10 Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes tomorrow, Saturday May 19th, beginning at 10 AM.

In celebration of the marathon, LOGO has posted 5 episodes on their website that highlight, “studs”. That’s right ladies and gents, we’re not just fixating on sexy cosplay girls this week, we’re helping everybody get their oogle goodies.

As for the episodes on Whedon‘s list, well, they contain few surprises, with The Body, Once More with Feeling, and Hush perpetually included on any list focused on the best of what used to be Whedon’s most well known work. The full list is below, and though I scratch my head a little at Restless and wonder how on earth the somewhat controversial, but brilliant for its ambition, Normal Again failed to make the list, that is the fun of these things — there is no 100% correct list.

Whedon’s Top 10 episodes of Buffy:

Prophecy Girl, Innocence, Becoming Part II, The Wish, Doppelgangland, Hush, Restless, The Body, Once More With Feeling, Conversations with Dead People

It’s almost the end of an era and sales couldn’t be better for AMC theaters. Tickets for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, the final movie in the series, have been on sale for days and they’ve been moving faster then a Golden Snitch on crack. Early tickets buyers should have waited however, because in celebration of the series finale, AMC theaters will be holding a special preliminary event. A marathon of movies that all the die-hard Potter pals have been waiting for.

If you have the stones for it and the free time, you can take part in a four night event showcasing all eight movies. Select AMC theaters will host 2 films a night, in order, culminating at midnight July 15 with the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Follow the jump for the entire schedule.
