There’s no question that Jamie Foxx is a good actor, but drama chops not withstanding, I dunno if I can take him seriously as the villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I could care less about the whole black dude playing a white character thing; I’m not that shallow. It’s the whole smurf on crack make-up that’s giving me a comical impression. Maybe, though, his performance will make up for his blue-meanie appearance?
Appearing on “The Tonight Show,” Jamie Foxx spoke with Jay Leno about his turn as Max “Electro” Dillon in Marc Webb’s TASM2, revealing the voice he’s going to be using for the character. Check out the interview segment below:
I really hope he’s joking about the Electro voice. Otherwise, this is Christian Bale’s graveling Batman all over again. *shakes head*
Also starring Shailene Woodley, Colm Feore, Sally Field and Chris Cooper, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.
It’s been a super kind of week. Superbowl and super heroes.
While I’m battling a super case of the shits, brought on by some tainted nachos, there is another stink in the air. Two in fact. A possible appearance of the ‘The Boy Wonder’ in Chris Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and a Bollywood actor (who seems to hate America) won’t villain up as the Protogoblin in Marc Webb’s ‘Spider-Man’ reboot.
Starting with the curry goblin news. Indian actor Irrfan Khan has in fact been cast in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Reports put him in the role of Nels Van Atter. According to Marvel lore, he is the evil Proto-Goblin, a research assistant to Mendel Stromm and employee of Norman Osborne (aka The Green Goblin). He was used in the conducting of high-tech experiments, and served as a test subject for a chemical that was developed by Osborne and Stromm, which turned him into a red beast with fangs and claws.
Well, the following excerpt from an interview he did with Indian Express seems to debunk any possibility that we’ll see him transform into the monsterous villain at any point in the upcoming movie!
