With current election cycle being what it is, Idiocracy is a movie that gets cited a lot, so it’s somewhat surprising that when the movie was released almost 10 years ago, it got barely any kind of theatrical release. Wish you could have seen it in a theatrical setting? Well shut up. Sit your monkey ass down. Chill out. And listen. Apparently, the cult film is in the works for a traveling roadshow style re-release sometime later this year. According to one of the stars of the film, director Mike Judge is considering a tour of the film complete with screenings and Q&As in case you need anymore convincing that we’re maybe two elections away from voting for a man named Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho. No doubt many of your are mere hours away from seeing Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens, and a very good percentage of you have probably re-watched the the original 3 movies in preparation for this cinematic event. Of course that leaves a great many of us scrambling to find time to get a good solid recap in before the new movie and since Episode VII starts nationwide in just a few hours we don’t really have the time, now do we?
So, rather than blaming our poor time management skills (but seriously, we have to reevaluate how we spend our time,) we can breathe sigh of relief and bang out a full review of the only Star Wars movies that matter in a little more than 20 minutes thanks to the folks over at Bad Lip Reading. You can relive all the high points of the saga like Old Ben’s endless quest for the Pickaxe of Cortez, Vader’s surprise tear jerking emotional reveal at the end of Empire, and of course the songs… Oh all the songs. These are precarious times for the Marvel Movie empire. Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel Studios boldest venture yet in live-action filmmaking arrives in theaters in just a few weeks. Then, this fall, the first in what hopefully will be a long-term collaboration between Marvel and its parent Disney to create animated Marvel films, will open in a cinema near you, Big Hero 6. New details have been revealed about who’s playing who in the film, and along with that, there’s a new trailer for the flick that shows a lot of humor and hints at some very big action.
