Coming off the back of a cumulative worldwide total of just over a billion dollars, fuelled by the predictable ‘ending-that-screams-out-sequel’ fare, we were all expecting the announcement of a sequel to the critically panned, Transformers: Age of Extinction. It came as no surprise Paramount fast-tracked the follow-up to the Box Office behemoth, adding in a tentative 2016 release date for good measure. The business model is sound: you keep lapping up the goods; we’ll keep producing the material –  in other words, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. However, a few questions still remain… and one of the big ‘uns is whether Michael Bay is returning to direct the follow-up. (more…)

When you think of people who possess a deep need for high quality cross trainers and cleats to aid them in their pursuit of physical excellence, naturally, you think of toy collectors. Filled with competitive fire, these warriors toe the temp-carpet of a show floor, clad in sweat pants to allow them the balletic grace and movement that the hunt requires as they juke past and leap over the competition to attain the latest con exclusive for their collections.

These people are warriors, but they now find themselves faced with a great dilemma — they can possess the freshly announced limited edition Megatron figure, but they must do so without the snazzy footwear that accompanies said figure. (more…)

Yeah, I’m talking to you Internet; you just couldn’t leave well enough alone could you? Just look at the mess you’ve made of Transformers  IV now. What’s that you say? You didn’t mean it, it was just a joke? Well now you’ve made your bed and Mark Wahlberg is gonna sleep in it.

It all started with a whisper here and a rumor there, next thing you know posts about Mark Wahlberg starring in Transformers IV are everywhere, prompting Michael Bay to at first put the kibosh on the rumor, then later in the week put out a press release saying he had second thoughts about the idea and that indeed Wahlberg would be a part of Transformers IV.

“The Mark Wahlberg T4 rumor is just a rumor. Mark and I are talking about another film project. -Michael”

“I squashed a rumor that was on the internet last week. It was about Mark Walhberg. Mark was rumored to be staring in Transformers 4. We are working on another movie together, not T4. I had such a great time working with Mark on Pain and Gain, and he gave such a great performance – well let’s say that very internet chatter gave me some ideas. We are at the inception of our story process right now on T4. Let’s say some ideas are gaining traction with me and my writer – so I’m here to say thanks internet chatter.”

Which lead to:

“Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on “Pain and Gain” and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy,”

That also included the first look at the official Transformers IV logo pictured below.

So there you have it Internet, you used your Jedi Mind trick for selfish personal reasons and now we’ve all got to live with it, but maybe you really wanted this to happen. You can use the comments section below for confessional, you’ll feel better getting it all out in the open.

Transformers 4 hits theater screens on June 27th, 2014.

Recent set photo’s for the upcoming film Transformers: Dark of the Moon have shown a new character which fans have dubbed the “Mad Max truck,” but as it turns out, its not a new character after all, but something more familiar.

According to JoBlo, the new truck is revealed (through the toy, no less) to be none other than Megatron, the villain of the previous two movies.

Check out the full photo’s of the new toy after the jump!

When I die I want my eulogy to be read by Peter Cullen. Cullen being the original voice of Optimus Prime has one of the best most recognizable voices in all of cartoon history. He could read the phone book and I would by that shit. Also I want him to be my grandpa.  Goddamn I am easily side tracked, which could be due, in part to the illicit activities I participate in. Oooh Cupcakes!

Let’s try this again..

Peter Cullen the voice of Optimus Prime in the 1980’s series as well as the movies and Frank Welker the voice of Megatron from the 1980’s cartoon are reuniting for the first time since 1986 for the Hasboro  Transformer series, That  will be premiering later this year, October 10th to be precise. The show is titled Transformers; Prime . Neato! We certainly will be looking forward to it, how about you?  It’s strange in everything I always seem to identify with the bad guy..the dark side if you will, but Transformers is the ONLY series where I’ve wanted to be the good guy. AUTOBOTS ROLL OUT!
