With Supergirl coming to the CW and “sorta” being a part of the “Arrow-verse,” now a whole bunch of other DC characters can bleed over into the show. James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), Supergirl’s love interest (well not anymore) will soon be suiting up and taking the vigilante route as well.
Nerds, geeks, super-fans – whatever you’d like to call us, one thing is for sure: there’s going to be a lot of cool stuff for genre fans to check out on TV this Fall. Information on most of the new (and returning) projects has been moderately available, and it’s always nice when the studios themselves offer up direct access for the fans. Unless you’re The Doctor, nothing says “nerd” like wearing a bow tie and being under the age of 50 (of course Doctor Who may not exactly be the lampshade I’m thinking of for this rule). But if Jimmy Olsen isn’t supposed to be anything, it’s a well-cut side of beef that’s part underwear model, and part athlete. After all, what good is it to be Superman’s best friend if it looks like you’d have a good chance at kicking his ass if he didn’t have super-powers? To wit, Mehcad Brooks has now been cast as Olsen in CBS’ Supergirl series. (more…)
