Each and every week we scour the Internet for nothing but the best in nerdy art. We leave no digital stone unturned, we poke and prod every nook and cranny of the Interwebz. Why? Because we love you, and we love to bring you weekly feed of nerd art.

On with the dump!

Above: We’ve seen Man of Steel on the big screen… maybe Warner Bros should think about reintroducing his cousin to movie audiences. Artist Froitz updated Supergirl’s costume to fit the current Kryptonian look, and it looks pretty damn sweet. [XombieDIRGE]

Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.

ABOVE: The stunning image was snapped at artist Mondo‘s SXSW Games of Thrones exhibit. Nerd Approved has tons more photos from the gallery. FYI, the above image of Daenerys will run you about $1,500.

Above: It’s good to see Disney is putting their ownership of the Star Wars franchise to good use, like making their princesses jedi knights. Ok, they didn’t, but Ralph Sevelius did. [Nerrrding]

Now that Sony is finally working on a CG animated Popeye film we’re left to speculate just what Popeye is going to look like, hopefully it’s like this. Created by Lee Romao, this version of Popeye is the furthest thing away from Robin Williams live action film of the early 80s’ and well suited for what Sony should be going with now. Hey Sony, if your reading this, hire the man. [Geek Tyrant]

Dr. Teeth, Animal, Sgt. Floyd Pepper, Janice and Zoot, the one and only Electric Mayhem -before Lips came in and ruined it with his trumpet. Douglas Holgate made this kick ass looking tour poster that looks to be pulled from our parents closets. This must have been an early in their career though since Zoot is nowhere to be seen, either that or this was during the first of his many drug-related offences. [The House Of Skullduggery]

You’re probably familiar with the spectacular posters created by Mondo, the art boutique associated with the Alamo Drafthouse. They’ve made awesome poster designs for everything from Star Wars to Hellboy to TRON to Scott Pilgrim. Mondo likes to focus, “on bringing art back to movie posters,” and they work with some of the best artists available.

With The Avengers releasing in two weeks they’ve announced they’ll be releasing a special seven poster series to celebrate. One can only assume each poster will feature a specific member of the super team and I cannot wait to see what kick ass designs they’ve come up with. Today they shared the posters for both Black Widow and Hawkeye and they are amazing! Olly Moss created Black Widow’s poster and Tom Whalen was responsible for Hawkeye’s. Check ’em out below,
