If you are an Anime fan, you’ll know that the three longest running Anime/Manga so far are Once Piece, Naruto and Bleach. I remember these particular Anime/Manga appearing around the end of my freshman and the beginning of my sophomore year of high school. I’m currently a Senior in COLLEGE. So yeah, these three Titans of the Anime/Manga world have been around longer than many other Anime or Manga in ciruculation since Inuyasha, Dragonball Z, and my favorite Sailor Moon, which is making a comeback with bi-monthly reprints that started earlier this year.
In February, a Japanese Magazine made a small announcement that the Bleach anime series would be ending March 27th, and it set the Internet on fire. People began making theories of what would become of Bleach. Some said it would make a comeback with a slightly different name, like Naruto did when it became Naruto: Shippuden and went forward in time from the events of the former series. Others though, began to slowly accept the reality that the show was really over and instead began the contemplation of how long the manga would last.
(original article from Japan announcing the last episode of Bleach)
Seeing as Tite Kubo, the creator of Bleach, has been saying that the current arc of Bleach in manga format will be the “last arc” there has been no definite date or year that this arc will finish. This is what is leading many to speculate that there will be a small break of non-filler/no air time, before they just pop back up with the LAST season. As of today, two days after the set ending of the show, there have been no reports of the show coming back on air just reminders that the manga is still being released.
The U.S & United Kingdom will probably not begin to see the last arc until about a year or so from now, after it is dubbed. Voice actors Johnny Young Bosch, Stephanie Sheh, Michelle Ruff, Jamieson Price, and the other members of the American cast will assuredly be missed for their roles in such a monumental piece of otaku/anime culture that has made a large impact on the current generation of Anime/Manga lovers everywhere.
While I’m sure some Otaku’s may be reading this, my friends included, wondering whether I’ll give spoilers or my opinion on the last episode I’ll just let you know now that I’m not planning on it unless there is a ‘desperate’ need for my opinion. If you’d like to know what happened in the last episode “google it” and you’ll find many blogs that have posted up a play by play with comments on the last episode.
The last episode of the series Ep. 366 entitled Changing History, Unchanging Hearts is part of the 16th Season, also known as the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc. The arc takes place seventeen months after the teenager Ichigo Kurosaki lost his Soul Reaper powers and meets a man known as Kugō Ginjō who proposes him to recover them.
What are your favorite memories involving Bleach? Whether its meeting with friends in High School or College, what was your favorite arc, or if it helped you through a difficult time go ahead and share with us we want to hear your story?
Thousand Pounds Action Company have been making awesome live-action Street Fighter super combo videos, now they’ve turned their attention to creating a live-action Naruto fan flick. I’m not a big Naruto fan, but this trailer might change my mind. The Thousand Pounds group has a good sense of editing and shot cutting. The arm wrap sequence is an excellent way to show the effect without a ton of special effects. I thought it made the total effect that much more believable.
The only thing I remembered from the 3DS reveal.

Back in January of 2008 (or December of 2007 for some folks), Viz released the monthly Shonen Jump to the US audience. It was a way for the fans to show their support for the titles they liked in a legal way but it of course never stopped the scans that would find its way on the internet but nonetheless, it was a start.
About.com talked senior editor Joel Enos about Viz’s attempt to revamp the monthly magazine, both paper and online. In the four page Q and A session, Enos revealed that the upcoming January 2011 issue, which will be available to subscribers December of this year, will feature the reboot by adding in few new manga titles such as Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s and Psyren.
Enos also revealed that subscribers will get special access on Shonen Jump’s website but didn’t reveal completely what it would be but that Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan (Nurarihyon no Mago). While the print version will feature a 2 chapter preview in the February issue, subscribers will be able to read new chapters online every month.
This is just a few things that Viz will be doing in order to keep the manga business alive here in the states and I think it’s heading in the right steps by adding an internet service to it. How about you manga readers? What would you like to see Viz and other publisher do in order to have you support them and the business?
