Disney is known for their squeaky clean, family-friendliness. There are parents throughout American who trust Disney with protecting their children from anything obscene or inappropriate, to the point of allowing their children to watch only Disney films exclusively. It’s this image that Disney wants to preserve, and in doing so fired James Gunn for a series of jokes that were, admittedly, off-color, black humor that wasn’t appropriate for public consumption. But when we look closer at Disney’s not-so-distant past, the company and the man it’s named for aren’t so squeaky-clean either. As fans, family, and friends clamor for Gunn to be given a second chance we look back on Disney’s own sordid past. How many chances has The House of Mouse been given?
Fans of the recent string of Call of Duty games complete with Zombie Mode as well as those who have played Return to Castle Wolfenstein: rejoice! A movie is being developed by the amazing and talented J.J. Abrams (Lost, Alias, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and it’s all about Nazi Zombies! Abrams has been brought on to produce the project, which will be directed by Julius Avery (Jerrycan, Yardbird, and Son of a Gun) with writers Billy Ray (The Hunger Games, Captain Phillips, and Shattered Glass) and Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, Vacancy, and The Hole).
A lot of gamers were stoked when there would be a Nazi Zombie level playable on Call of Duty: World at War and some would say that was the sole reason they bought the WWII FPS. Of course there was also some gamers upset when COD: MW2 wouldn’t have a Zombie Terrorists because, well, Infinity Ward didn’t want to copy something silly Treyarch did. In the latest vid from College Humor, they ask “Are they still Nazi”s? Or are they just regular Zombies?” Thinking about it now, I say they are just regular old zombies that were Nazi’s when they were alive, but then again, I’m sure we all have our own opinion. The vid also adds other elements and the questions keeps on going. Check the video out as it is quite funny and remember, if there was a zombie apocalypse, I would be the first one to die since I’m fat.
With last months release of the HeartGold and SoulSilver remakes, the announcement of the fifth gen Pokemon series, Pokemon Black and White (which will probably go through a name change of Shadow and Light), and the announcement of Ash and Pikachu not appearing in Pokemon Black and White anime, you gotta say Pokemon is still going strong for 14 years.
Pokemon is well known and it has long already set its place in nerd culture for its games, cards, anime, and countless of merchandise. Like anything popular, it deals with problems which lead to controversies. Some of these you may know and some of these may be news to you. So, after the jump, check out what Pokemon had to deal with in the last 14 years. (more…)
I first saw this a few days ago, and have since been trying to decide whether this is just amazing, or amazingly bad.
First, I thought it was the single most brilliant tattoo I’d ever seen. But after spending some time thinking about it I’ve decided that it sucks. Not because it’s blatantly insensitive (that’s what makes it so funny), but because the guy donning it has a nipple ring, and I’ve never met a dude with a nipple ring that wasn’t a complete and total douchebag. You know I’m right.
