Memba old school Contra for classic NES? Oi! That was a dumb question. Y’all know Contra. Don’t think there is a nerd out there that doesn’t know the Konami 30 lives code. Up, Up, Down Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Start. It’s coded into our DNA. I think the real question is how many of us admitiely beat the side scrolling shoot em up? I digress, if you loved playing Contra back in the day then you’re going to loose your shit over this new facebook arcade game based off the upcoming, Sylvester Stallone action flick ‘The Expendables‘. It’s basically Contra, but with Stallone. The way it should be. Game play is the same as the classic NES game and the music is just as reminiscent. It’s impossibly hard, but incredibly fun. It’ll instantly transport you back the gaming days of your youth. Not to mention how much a genius marketing gimmick this is. Kudos to marketing guy/gal that came up with it.
A team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.
In the came you can play as Barney Ross (Stallone), Lee Christman (Jason Statham) or Yin Yang (Jet Li) in full 8-bit glory. Beat the game as Yin Yan to unlock Bonus Mode for a chance to see alternate endings and Easter eggs. Make it onto the Top 10 All-Time High Scores list for official ‘Expendables’ swag from Lionsgate and Break.
