Sure looks that way. On the Facebook fan page for Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures new Godzilla remake yesterday, the below picture was posted with the caption, “Path of Destruction.” Not sure where this is supposed to be in the context of the film, but if you said that it looks like British Columbia, you’d be correct because Godzilla is indeed shooting in and around Canada’s western-most province right now. (No word yet on how a Godzilla attack is going to affect the current provincial election in B.C., and between you, me, and the lamp post Liberal Premier Christy Clark can’t take any more bad news.)

Godzilla, directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters) and starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston, and Sally Hawkins, is scheduled to be released on May 16th, 2014.
What a great treat to kick off your weekend, right? At the moment both season seven of Doctor Who and Star Trek 2 are filming and, as expected, we’re getting out first glimpses of the action on set. Obviously, if you’d like to not be spoiled about either of these, do not proceed.
An epic journey across the ocean, sets the premise for our next wonderful bit of nerdy news surrounding the most anticipated prequel to hit the big screen “The Hobbit”. This tidbit of news is part of Ain’t it Cool News‘ weekly column on all things Tolkien, and on this week’s adventures in New Zealand we get to see all the behind the scenes photos and some excerpted highlights of adventures on the set.
The first exciting siting in the movie was none other than… Frodo Baggins!
“Ain’t it Cool News” reporter states:
“The crew was setting up a crane out on the narrow walkway in front of Bag End for their first shot actually in Hobbiton in over 10 years. Because of the narrow and steep path down, the crew had to bring crane parts down and assemble much of it there. It took a little while, but before too long the familiar circular green front door of Bag End cracked open and out stepped an even more familiar face.
Munching on jellied toast, Frodo Baggins sauntered out and hopped down the steps leading to the mailbox, grabbed some mail and headed back inside. What’s Frodo doing in The Hobbit? I don’t want to spoil too much, but I can say that Frodo is part of the connecting tissue between The Hobbit and Fellowship of the Ring.”
MORE AFTER HE JUMP
Well, then, here ya go. These new images are making the rounds today and they offers us our first really good look as the new Superman costume. Below, Henry Cavill is seen sporting the outfit, sans cape, as a camera man and another man in a motion capture suit stand nearby on the set of Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel.
I’m telling ya, not having the red undies is a mistake. There’s too much blue going on here. I do like those designs coming down his sides, they’re a neat feature. And what do you think, are those boots attached? That’s kind of weird. We can also clearly make out the texture of this suit and it seems very similar to Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man suit.
Tell us what you think about the new Superman suit, now that we’ve got a nice view.

And sorry folks, it truly is a glimpse. But hey, it is someone, hopefully Henry Cavill, in the suit on set for Man of Steel, currently filming in Planos, Illinois. The images below, beyond the cut, come from Greg Zonsius, and the unofficial Man of Steel Facebook page, and are our first look at the ‘S’ logo on the back of some chairs as well as a crater, which we’re guessing is from Kal-El’s arrival on earth.
Also, I’m pleased to say, the cape looks really red. Like, red red. Not the de-saturated cape we saw in the first official image of Cavill in the suit seen above. Hopefully this means they won’t be toning down the colors in the film, Superman should be bright.
And, damn, this really is a summer where super heroes walk amongst us. Right now the Avengers are blowing up Cleveland and Batman’s cruising around Pittsburgh. Now Supes is in Illinois. It’s crazy!
Give the images below a look and tell us what you think.
