You can’t look at the news without hearing about hacking. Let’s face it, we live in a digital world and as more and more information is in the cloud, the more it is susceptible to exploitation. Hell, there are those that think the most recent presidential election was hacked, so the idea is totally in the air. As our banks, our Facebook accounts, and everything else is vulnerable to hacking, so is the entertainment industry, and not just celebrities’ nudes. The most recent high-profile hacking done was when Sony was hacked, revealing all sorts of details about the movie studios. It looks like there’s a new hack, and this time, there are demands.
The subscription service that is revolutionising the way the west watches television, Netflix became a household name practically overnight. Having all your favourite shows and a boatload of movies available to view on demand makes life so much easier for anyone with a job or a hobby or a life, who can’t always be there when shows are broadcast live. It saves having to remember to record stuff and costs a hell of a lot less than buying or renting everything you want to watch individually. Already instrumental in forging the future of home viewing, Netflix moved into creating its own original content in 2013.
There are tons of things you can watch to get to grips with the kind of content Netflix is capable of creating, and it’s well worth doing. Though it’s as guilty of the occasional dud as any other network, there is enough great quality original stuff on there to keep you occupied for months on end.

One of the fascinating things about the titular hero in Daredevil is that he’s visual impaired, but uses his enhanced skills to be one of the best @$$ kickers on the mean streets of New York. That’s not to say that blind people can’t be brawlers – they can! – but when Daredevil was created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett in 1964, that was a very forward-looking ideal. The world has changed a lot in the last 50 years, but in some ways people with visual disabilities still have to advocate for equal access, even to a Netflix show about blind lawyer and superhero. Well good news for the hard of seeing because Netflix is bring making the fun and action of Daredevil available to you through the power of described video. (more…)
With about a month to go before the release of the second season of the Netflix series Orange is the New Black, it appears that the online streaming site is jumping the gun and presuming the popularity of the new episodes by renewing it for a third, 13-episode season. The announcement isn’t official, but it has been confirmed by a couple of sources close to the production as legit, which is good news for the show’s growing fanbase that has continued to be built up since the show’s premiere last summer.
