One of the main complaints (amongst many) about the series of Transformers movies by Michael Bay is that robots in disguise featured in them look nothing like the Transformers we know and love. Of course by that we mean that Bay’s VFX team took a significant departure in the look and style of all the assorted Autobots and Decepticons, so much so that they got their own name, “Bay-formers.” So a lot of you have been missing those good old days from the 80s, and someone has heard your call, and they work in the video game industry. If you’re looking for a taste of the old school then Platinum Games has a surprise for you this fall, and this your first look. (more…)

This far into the Transformer series of films by Michael Bay you know exactly what you’re going to get, so you’re either going to see Transformers: Age of Extinction and enjoy it, see it and hate watch it, or just ignore its passing and seeing something more engaging to your personal taste at the multiplex. If I could describe Age of Extinction in two words, they would be “too much,” too much exposition, too much action, too much plot, too much Bay-hem… And although it’s not as noticeable, too much silliness mixed in with all the hardcore action. In other words, it’s everything you like, or hate, already about Transformers films, just more of it. (more…)

Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.

Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.

ABOVE: The tweet from @ThatElenaGirl is pretty self explanatory and Kirkman’s expression is freakin’ hilarious! Steve Yeun, who plays Glenn on AMC’s series, is quite the talented artist, don’t you think?

Marvel has had no luck making a hit of a Punisher flick. Easy way to solve that problem, cast a chick, duh. (TDW: Geek)

Transformers-Cartoon

When I die I want my eulogy to be read by Peter Cullen. Cullen being the original voice of Optimus Prime has one of the best most recognizable voices in all of cartoon history. He could read the phone book and I would by that shit. Also I want him to be my grandpa.  Goddamn I am easily side tracked, which could be due, in part to the illicit activities I participate in. Oooh Cupcakes!

Let’s try this again..

Peter Cullen the voice of Optimus Prime in the 1980’s series as well as the movies and Frank Welker the voice of Megatron from the 1980’s cartoon are reuniting for the first time since 1986 for the Hasboro  Transformer series, That  will be premiering later this year, October 10th to be precise. The show is titled Transformers; Prime . Neato! We certainly will be looking forward to it, how about you?  It’s strange in everything I always seem to identify with the bad guy..the dark side if you will, but Transformers is the ONLY series where I’ve wanted to be the good guy. AUTOBOTS ROLL OUT!
