Captain Jack Sparrow may be returning to theaters sooner than you think. Despite it being a bit of a plot flip-flop, Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides has become the seventh highest grossing box office film in international history, and reports say that Johnny Depp is getting ready to sign a deal to star in Pirates of the Caribbean 5. After making $350 million dollars off of the four films in the franchise, even if he doesn’t sign the contract soon, it is an inevitable choice that he’ll want to keep making cash on what he says is one of his favorite roles to date.
More after the jump….
Wowwy! We have ourselves a lot of news here for the upcoming years. Anybody know that Thor was coming out the same year? Or They had even decided on a new Pirates of the Caribbean film, let alone name it? The Hollywood Reporter is doing their job….And doing it well.
Boxoffice year 2010 has just begun, but all eyes in Hollywood seem to be on May 2011. On Wednesday, three developments occurred in rapid fire:
— Sony’s “Spider-Man 4” effectively was effectively bounced from its May 6, 2011, slot because of a production delay.
— Paramount’s Marvel comics actioner “Thor” leaped into that slot.
— Disney finally slotted its “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” for May 20, 2011.
The next question for the 2011 summer slate: Where will “Spidey 4” land once its script woes are sorted out?
2011 seems like it will be a huge year in fucken Earnin’ and Burnin’, breakin’ necks and cashin’ checks!
