We all know that Spider-Man: Homecoming is now just a couple of weeks away from release, and the excitement level is high for another great Spider-Man adventure. One of the features of the advertising for Homecoming has been the phone videos that Spidey seems to make of his adventures, which makes you wonder, as always, just what in the heck is it like to be Spider-Man anyway. Video game technology is constantly getting us closer, and that virtual experience takes another leap with Marvel’s Spider-Man for PlayStation 4. The new game comes out next year, but a new 9-minute demo has just been released as E3. (more…)
It’s that time of year when we’re flooded with first looks, trailers and other assorted news from the video game business. It’s E3 in Los Angeles this week! The chance for fans, journalists, and competitors to get to see what the video game companies are cooking, and from the looks of things, there’s a lot of good stuff in the oven. To wit, a veritable eruption of new game trailers for the Sony‘s Playstation 4 have been released, and they include some pretty big names and a hint at what Sony’s got in store for those looking forward to VR. Hope your browsers up to date, because there are so many trailers below, we just might crash it! (more…)
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have just released a brand-new announce trailer for the ‘Injustice 2‘ video game, the highly-anticipated sequel to ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us.’ Injustice 2, developed by publisher NetherRealm Studios (Mortal Kombat franchise), will feature a massive roster of DC Superheroes and Villains that players can “build and power up.” (more…)
Okay, so it’s probably not the new Star Wars trailer you’d like to see (Rogue One anyone?), but a sneak peak trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been leaked, and if you’re still in love with the seventh Star Wars movie, then you’re definitely going to love this. Copying some of the scenes portrayed in the movie’s trailers, the game looks like it will give fans the change to play as Finn, Rey, Poe Dameron and all your favorites from The Force Awakens, plus it will apparently fill in some of the blanks from the time period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Interested yet? (more…)
One of the main complaints (amongst many) about the series of Transformers movies by Michael Bay is that robots in disguise featured in them look nothing like the Transformers we know and love. Of course by that we mean that Bay’s VFX team took a significant departure in the look and style of all the assorted Autobots and Decepticons, so much so that they got their own name, “Bay-formers.” So a lot of you have been missing those good old days from the 80s, and someone has heard your call, and they work in the video game industry. If you’re looking for a taste of the old school then Platinum Games has a surprise for you this fall, and this your first look. (more…)
There were many who left the PlayStation Experience’s Keynote on Saturday feeling slightly underwhelmed due to lack of any announcement (or any footage for that matter), of the PlayStation mainstay, God of War. The action/adventure video game series, loosely based on Greek mythology – which debuted in 2005 – has became a flagship title for the PlayStation brand, comprising seven games across multiple platforms (a trilogy and prequel – God of War I, II, III, and Ascention) and were developed by Sony‘s Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. However, we have yet to see a release of the monolithic and “beastly” franchise on the Playstation 4. (more…)
In further proof that the Internet has the worst collective taste EVER (are you seriously still attempting to defend that POS AMAZING SPIDER-MAN sequel?), the Indiegogo campaign for Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, has met its ludicrous-sounding $450,000 goal.
The pain that just shot through my fingers while typing that was almost unbearable.
The sequel to the unplayable ’90s Street Fighter knockoff will be available on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime in the future, with each sale successfully placing money in already established multi-millionaire celebrity Shaquille O’Neal’s pocket. No word yet as to how Ron Artest’s (excuse me…Metta World Peace’s) Kill Everything That Moves Kickstarter is going, nor what Kill Everything That Moves actually is (a home movie?).
Hey Cowboy Supreme! Get your cheddar hat on and put your ass in neutral, it’s time for the mother loving BastardCast starring Rickety John and the Uptown One Man Trio and they’re gonna tie a gutter snake around a rainbow and give effort to the task of wonderment, bitch! “You’ll forgive me if I don’t stay around to watch. I just can’t cope with the freaky stuff.”
Those were Barry Convex’s last words to Max Renn before leaving him alone with a giant, pulsing headset wrapped around his skull; a device that would send Renn further down the rabbit hole of distorted reality that is David Cronenberg’s Videodrome. During their 2014 Game Developers Conference presentation, PlayStation head Shuhei Yoshida presented a Virtual Reality prototype for “Project Morpheus”, a head-mounted display featuring a white visor with a black wrap-around piece along the eye-line that will transform anyone who wears it into James Woods.
It’s been nearly 10 years since the release of the last Doom video game, which is a lifetime in the history of the video game business. But now there’s news that the beta version of the long-awaited Doom 4 will be coming to a video game console near you, and if you want, you best get your browser over to the website for the new Wolfenstein game and pre-order that sucker.
