Pocket Monster

An Infographic About Pokemon

While I’m trying my best to not cry over the fact that Ash and Pikachu will be gone from the anime when Pokemon: Best Wishes starts in order to promote Pokemon Black and White, it may be time for some folks to learn some things about Pokemon before the “rebirth” of the franchise. So what better way to learn than with a Infographic on the subject (2010=Year of the Infographs).

From the many Pokemon types to the names of Team Rocket members, it’s a nice little knowledge of Pokemon for maybe some casual fans didn’t know about (sadly, I already knew most of these). Check after the jump for the full size on the massive infographic and if you want some more Pokemon info, then check out the 7 Pokemon Controversies You May Or May Not Know article.

Do you know the name of Kim Jong Il’s father? Why it’s Men Tully Il… sorry couldn’t help myself there. Anyway, on the internet, people showcase their artistic skills one way or another. Some times we get something awesome, such as Batman vs. Shark, and be in awe at the epicness of it. Then, there are times where we have the WTF pictures, such as the Batman pregnant with Superman’s kid picture, in which I ask, who in the blue hell would do such a thing? Todays picture fits the later category as nerd artist Sakkan used his skills to portray his image of the Korean leader…Pokemon style.

That is a “Rocket Monster Kim” trainer with his trusty “Pikadon” or Pika-BOOM. Also, the phrase, gotta catch ’em all, has been modify to say “gotta kidnap ’em all!” For the last touch, apparently the Korean character he has on his hat means evil. Understanding the puns does add a touch of appreciation to the picture (well, for me atleast) and who knows, maybe you guys will end up loving the picture as well.

With last months release of the HeartGold and SoulSilver remakes, the announcement of the fifth gen Pokemon series, Pokemon Black and White (which will probably go through a name change of Shadow and Light), and the announcement of Ash and Pikachu not appearing in Pokemon Black and White anime, you gotta say Pokemon is still going strong for 14 years.

Pokemon is well known and it has long already set its place in nerd culture for its games, cards, anime, and countless of merchandise. Like anything popular, it  deals with problems which lead to controversies. Some of these you may know and some of these may be news to you. So, after the jump, check out what Pokemon had to deal with in the last 14 years. (more…)
