question of the week

superpower

NOTE FROM OUR SENIOR EDITOR, LUKE GALLAGHER: Hey bastards, you may have noticed that this weeks nerd question is not new. It’s from a few weeks back. We recycled it because a few hours after it went up Nerdbastards, the site itself went down (We got booted from our server and were down for almost 2 weeks). Being that it was only seen for a brief period of time and being that it’s such a good question we had to bring it back.

Friday is here and with the release of our 28h podcast episode comes the ever-popular question of the week! Question of the week is a question we ask you, our readers and listeners, and you answer it by either commenting to this post , or telling us your answer on facebook or twitter (@nerdbastards)! We choose the best answer on the Podcast and the winner will have their answer read aloud on the air, as well as the ability to shout-out or plug anything they want to. You will also see your answer written here on the weekly question post.

Last week’s question was: What is the Nerdiest Trick To Pull On Someone That Doesn’t Give You A Treat On Halloween. The user who won answered here on the site with the username: Paxton Pounce. Paxton said:

“Easy. Wait a day to lower their paranoia for retribution and then simply wrap a Mogwai in a cute little bonnet, and place in a basket on their doorstep with a note saying, “Hungry and cute. Please feed me”. The common person won’t recognize the creature and will follow the note. Hilarious and vengeful events will be sure to follow.”

Lets congratulate Paxton on submitting such a nerd bastard worthy answer. For this awesome submission Paxton wins a prize from our partner SPLITREASON.COM. If you’re not familiar with SPLITREASON.COM they are an awesome (and I do mean awesome geek/nerd online apparel store. Tagged as ‘Gear for Geeks and Gamers’ their shirts are inspired from our most beloved video games, as well as commentary on nerd/geek culture. Paxton, as our winner gets to go to SPLITREASON.COM and pick out 1 free t-shirt of his/her choosing, any style, any size. Awesome prize for an awesome nerd. Cheers to Paxton!

This week’s question is: What superpower would you most like to have and what is the most dastardly thing you would do with it?

We implore you to have a lot of fun with this and hope to see some funny and creative answers. Please note that we DO NOT have a prize for this weeks nerd question. However, if your answer is really good, Luke (Our Senior Editor) might scrounge something nice for ya. So what are you waiting for, ANSWER!

Last week’s question was: If you could bring back any deceased celeb from nerd culture for one year, who would it be and what would you want to see them do?  The winner was user Murphy’s Law who said: Id bring back Harvey Pekar, not only so he can punch David Letterman in the face, and failures really need a leader right now. (and lets face it, he was the most successful failure ever.)  Congrats, Murphy’s Law!

This week’s question is: What is the most shocking thing to happen in a comic and how did it affect you?

Now, the latter part of the question is where we hope you’ll get creative. Memba funny, unique, and or well thought out answers get the most attention.

Shut the joker up. Congrats, Static!  Great answer.

, falling onto your Harry Potter movie quality replica wand, which goes right through your Twilight “I Heart Shining Vampires!” tshirt, barely missing your Star Trek Communicator pin, and goes straight into your heart.

It’s that time again, folks!  To drink a bottle of dishsoap and breathe bubbles like a Blastoise?  Nope.  To fly to the moon on a rocket powered by nacho cheese?  Wrong again.  No no, it’s the question of the week!  Every week we ask a question on Nerdbastardcast, the official Podcast of Nerdbastards.com.  We leave it to you, our audience, to submit your answers to our question and the top 3 answers are read on the air.  The hosts of the podcast will then choose the best answer and the winner will receive a prize!  (Limited to availability.)

This week’s question is:

“What would happen if the Juggernaut ran into the Blob?”

Now, you can approach this question in two ways. You can use this as a means to show your nerd aptitude and give us an elaborate answer that accurately describes what would happen when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object. Or, you can have a little creative fun. Juggernaut meeting the blob? That sounds like how stars are born, to me.

To award the nerd mind with the most funny, creative or clever answer we have, to giveaway, an excellent swag bag from thinkgeek.com. In this miscellaneous grab bag we have 5 energy nourishing goodies:

1 bottle of RootJack Caffeinated Pirate Root Beer. Caffinated root beer.

1 tin of Penguin Mints. Peppermint flavored, caffinated mints.

1 container of Chargers Chocolate Expresso Beans. Caffinated, chocolate covered, expresso beans

1 tin of FOOSH Energy Mints. Caffinated mints. 1 mint equals 1 cupt of coffee.

It’s that time again, folks!  To make frogs disappear using only the power of your mind?  Nope.  To drink a glass of water upside down?  Wrong again.  No no, it’s the question of the week!  Every week we ask a question on Nerdbastardcast, the official Podcast of Nerdbastards.com.  We leave it to you, our audience, to submit your answers to our question and the top 3 answers are read on the air.  The hosts of the podcast will then choose the best answer and the winner will receive a prize!  (Limited to availability.)

Last week we only had one answer to our question, so step it up!  We know you read it.

This week’s question is:

Who would win in a fight and why; Gandalf the Grey or Albus Dumbledore?

There are lots of points that can be argued for this question so lets get those juices flowing.  Is it Gandalf who is the obvious winner since, as Blake said, he made a miraculous return from the dead?  Or is it Dumbledore who always seems one step ahead of Voldemort, no matter how cunning he seems to be?

question

Nerd question of the week. Where we ask you, the listeners, to respond on twitter and facebook to a question of our choosing. Best responses get mentioned on this very podcast and the person with the very best answer wins a prize.(Subject to availability)
