It didn’t take long for Disney to follow-up their live action Cinderella teaser the other day with the full trailer. There’s a lot of acting talent involved in this latest incarnation that includes Lily James as Ella, Cate Blanchett as the evil Step Mother, Richard Madden as the Prince, and Helena Bonham Carter as her Fairy God Mother. How do you think this will do at the box office? (more…)
Things are starting to pop in Josh Trank‘s Fantastic Four reboot camp. We’ve got news on the actors reading for the roles of Sue and Reed Richards and some tidbits about the status of Simon Kinberg‘s script. (more…)
‘Game of Thrones’: GRRM Shares SDCC Sched & Thoughts on Red Viper Casting; Plus, Director Neil Marshall Returning for Season 4?
Can you feel that buzz in the air? We are two weeks out from San Diego Comic Con and every nerd, whether they be attending or not, is in a frenzy. Even the creators coming to share their wares at the con are getting a little antsy. George R.R. Martin, you may know him from HBO‘s hit television show Game of Thrones and that guy people yell at on the street to, “WRITE FASTER!”, has shared his Comic Con plans on his blog,
The next convention on my calendar is the San Diego Comicon.
My dance card is already almost full. Yes, there will be a GAME OF THRONES panel, and I’ll be on it. It is scheduled for Friday, July 19, 2:50 to 3:45, in Hall H To be followed by an autographing at the WB booth. Of course, I’ll be joined on the panel by half a dozen cast members (no, don’t know which ones yet) and David and Dan.
He provides some hints at what we can expect from Game of Thrones, like a panel in Hall H on Friday with David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and as of yet unannounced members of the cast. (What do you know? UPDATE! John Bradley, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Fairley, Kit Harington, Rose Leslie, and Richard Madden will be in attendance.) Surprised? No way! After last season and all those records they broke of course the series was going to get a prime time and placement.
GRRM also has some comments for those concerned about the recent casting announcement of The Red Viper, and there are rumors Neil Marshall is returning to direct Season 4’s finale. Hit the jump!
Go Inside The Red Wedding, Plus Cast Reactions to ‘Game of Thrones’ Most Shocking Episode [SPOILERS!]
If we’re not discussing who’s going to be the next Doctor, we’re talking about The Red Wedding. It’s what the internet– nay, the entire nerd world has been abuzz about since Sunday night when Game of Thrones‘ most shocking episode aired. And if you haven’t yet seen said episode, I’d go click your way somewhere else. Believe me, you don’t want to be here. What follows will not only spoil what is a genuinely great surprise, it will also sink you into a depression so deep not even back to back to back editions of Sexy Cosplay of the Week could save you.
Okay, we’re all square with discussing the big turn of events from last week’s episode, “The Rains of Castemere“, yes? Good.
Let’s begin with what is easily the most adorable and hilarious reaction to The Red Wedding, and it comes from GoT‘s own Arya, Maise Williams (caution: auto play),
Surprisingly absolutely no one, Disney has confirmed via a press release that frontrunner Richard Madden will play the prince in their live-action adaptation of Cinderella. He’s joining Lily James as the titular princess, Cate Blanchet as the evil step-mother, and Kenneth Branagh as director. Looking at this talented line-up, I’m quite pleased.
And considering what Madden still has left to endure as Robb Stark in this season of Game of Thrones, getting to be the prince of a peaceful, Disney kingdom will be a well earned vacation. I can’t imagine his choosing to marry Cinderella will cause nearly as many problems as his decision to marry the Lady Talisa, amirite?
Has this casting made you any more excited for Cinderella?
Strange, quirky ads are not a new thing on Craigslist. You can find just about anything on Craigslist, new and used clothing, toys, records, services of one (Cough-Cough) type or another. Many people browse Craigslist just to find gems like this one.
Seeking Robb Stark Look-alike from GOT – w4m – 25 (New Orleans)
The Iron throne replica goes for upwards of $30,000 dollars so she’s obviously a lady of means. Cosplayers in the area might want to question any friends that look like Robb Stark and suddenly want to borrow a few fur laced cosplay piece of armor or cloak.
What do you think about this? Kudos for trying to live out any of your fantasies, sexual or not, but I would never suggest this route to any of my friends or relatives. No medical testing, no names, it just seems unsafe. Imagine that, a Craigslist that’s unsafe. Perhaps this is part of the thrill she is seeking.
I wonder what Richard Madden thinks about the whole thing? Rumor is that he secretly married his long time girl friend recently.
If she can’t find a Robb Stark Look-alike then maybe a Jon Snow would do, he knows where to put it after all.
Chime in, would you ever consider answering this ad or making on like it to fufill your fantasies
After Emma Waston passed on the chance to play the peasant turned princess, Disney‘s been on the search for just who’s going to fill that glass slipper, and as Deadline reports, they’ve narrowed it down to three: Bella Heathcoate (Burton’s Dark Shadows), Lily James (Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Downton Abby) and Margot Robbie (Pan Am, Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street). All three actresses fall under unknowns – I mean, do you recognize any of those names? – and the hope is who ever stars in Cinderella will score a boon of popularity like Mia Wasikowska did from her role as Alice. Which of these three would you cast?
You better choose well, because whoever snags the lead role could be waltzing at the ball with none other than Richard Madden, Game of Thrones‘ Young Wolf, King in the North, Robb Stark, who is topping the list of potential princes. And at this very moment I’d like to make a very apt comment, but due to spoilers for Thrones‘ third season, I’ll abstain, but you book readers should hopefully know what I’m thinking.
Anyway, things seem to progressing nicely for the Kenneth Branagh-directed fairy tale. And things aren’t slowing down for live-action, fairytale adaptations, either. Before Cinderella, which is expected in 2014, there’s still Maleficant starring Angeline Jolie coming next year.
What do you think of the live-action, fairytale fad?

What? You’ve gone a couple days without anything new from Game of Thrones? Let’s change that. As the hype builds HBO has released another teaser to do just that, tease us with scant, quick clips from Season 3. And tease us they do, they damn near titillate us with that all too quick glance of Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) taking a bath in one of the series’ most popular scenes.
There’s also quick glimpse of Daario, a new “acquaintance” of Daenerys for Season 3, plus more Ygritte, Talisa, and Margaery. I think Natalie Dormer is going to be a scene stealer this season, I’m so excited!
Last week, the cast of Thrones was all over Entertainment Weekly, this week it’s TV Guide. There’s three covers available, one for each of three main houses: Stark, Lannister, and Targaryen, plus some truly stunning, black and white photos of the principal cast. Take a look through the gallery below.
When they took these beautiful photos, TV Guide also recorded some interviews with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Michelle Fairley, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Richard Madden, and Kit Harington. Check it out!
Game of Thrones returns March 31st!
