Rob Corddry

I dunno about the rest of y’all, but I for one am stoked for Jonathan Levine‘s rom-zom-com, Warm Bodies.

I’ll tell you, my 10 years of domestication and demasculation with Mrs. Nerd Bastards has had no influence on my girlish anticipation. This isn’t about having any misplaced love for Twilight, or having strong feminine sensibilities. This flicks corky, funny Zombieland humor is what got my attention. It’s a flick that doesn’t take itself seriously. No bullshit romances, or dorky metrosexual-creatures here. What you got is purely comical and satirical.

If you’re note on the bandwagon yet, then I implore you to check out the trailer.  If, after viewing, you don’t agree we finally have a decent flesh-eating monsters with heart story, well… then I’ll just have to re-evaluate my manhood.

For the rest of you Warm Bodies fanatics, Summit Entertainment has released three clips and 13 minutes of B-roll for the film.

I haven’t watched the clips or the footage since I want to go in having seen as little of the movie as possible. I might finally be able to enjoy a rom-com with Mrs. Nerd Bastards without any per-conceived judgements, and thus, not be an asshole about it. I’ll possibly (and hopefully) have fun with this one.

Check out the clips and the B-roll.  The film also stars Rob Corddry and John Malkovich.

Warm Bodies opens February 1st.

When Luke, the Head-NerdBastard in charge, asked me to do a post about the new trailer for director Jonathan Levine‘s Warm Bodies, based on the book of the same name by first time author Isaac Marion, he said, “Feel free to make fun of it as hard as you want.” So that was exactly the attitude I went with as I started watching. I mean really, a Zombie love story, is this gonna be Twilight with Zombies?

Something happened while I watched and listened to the inner dialogue going on in R’s ( That’s what the zombie’s name is listed as in IMDB) head. Maybe it was the musical selection, or the actually funny dialogue and scenes. By the time I finished the trailer I was checking the release date and the book cost over at Amazons.

Take a look and let me know if I’m right or do I need to do a weekend zombie movie marathon to cleanse my Zombie palate.

Warm Bodies stars Teresa Palmer as Julie, Nicholas Hoult as R, Dave Franco as Perry Kelvin, John Malkovich as General Grigio, Analeigh Tipton as Nora, Cory Hardrict as Kevin, and Rob Corddry as M. The movie shambles onto theater screens February 1st, 2013.
