The early to mid 90’s was a golden era for animation. We had ducks with tales and dark wings, there were ancient Scottish gargoyles protecting New York (from Commander Riker, no less,) heck even the Simpson’s wasn’t completely terrible yet. In those hyper-color™ halcyon days, Warner Bros. had an amazingly successful run with the likes of the animated adventures of Batman, Superman, and even a unique twist on their Looney Tunes stable with Tiny Toon Adventures. It truly was the a great time for cartoons.
Decades later, WB’s (and humanities,) greatest cartoon might be making it’s return. So just sit back and relax because it just might be time for more Animaniacs! (more…)
Rob Paulsen (Pinky) and Maurice LaMarche (The Brain) run through an iconic scene from Quentin tarantino’s Pulp Fiction with Pinky as Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson,) and The Brain as Vincent Vega (John Travolta) naturally. Improving it to no end. (more…)
Over the last 5 years there’s been a resurgence in popular 80’s and 90’s cartoons or TV shows, some of which have been revived and brought back for our viewing pleasure. Of course we’ve got a Full House revival, a miniseries continuation of The X-Files, new Twin Peaks next year, new Powerpuff Girls, and that’s just a tip of the nostalgia iceberg. This month the Animaniacs was made available for streaming on Netflix, but for all lovers of our Zanny trio: Yakko, Wakko & Dot; the fun doesn’t stop at just watching the show. Warner Bros. is rewarding the love with some live-action song stylings. Check out more after the jump.
Stop what you’re doing. If ya got plans, cancel ’em. What you’ll be doing for the next hour and half is watching, but more importantly, listening to Billy West, Tara Strong, Maurice LaMarche, John DiMaggio, Kevin Conroy, Jess Harnell and Rob Paulsen read The Star Wars Trilogy as if it were a radio play as this year’s Emerald City Comic-Con.
THIS MIGHT BE THE GREATEST THING EVER!
And I’ve only watched the first scene where Vader interrogates Princess Leia. Oh, and to give you an idea how this goes down Tara Strong in the voice of Bubbles from The Powerpuff Girls is Darth Vader, Jess Harnell as Adam West is the Captain Antilles, Rob Paulsen as Pinky from Pinky and the Brain is the Stormtrooper, and John DiMaggio as Jake from Adventure Time is Leia.
Has you’re brain exploded from the potential for so much awesome? Yes? No? If not, then cool ’cause with your head intact you can starting watching it now,
