When Marvel needed someone to script doctor some additional scenes for the upcoming Doctor Strange film starring Benedict Cumberbatch they called on Dan Harmon, creator of co-creator of the fan favorite comedy Community. Harmon is an odd choice but also an inspired one. His off-center comedic style is fantastic when it clicks with the actors involved and Cumberbatch is just the talented actor to pull it off. The Russo Brothers are amping up their Social Media presence with some live video on Facebook. Civil War’s latest trailer made huge waves in the global nerd scene. Coupled with Robert Downey Junior‘s recent consideration of giving up his iconic Iron Man role means that Captain America: Civil War needs to give us the biggest, meanest, most over-the-top MCU pow-wow yet. The cast and creative team seem to be taking all this performance anxiety rather well, all things considered, what with their recent teases and some of the behind-the-scenes hijinks that we’ve been hearing about…

From the moment he stepped into frame as Lt. Col. James “Rhodey” Rhodes in Iron Man 2 and told Robert Downey Jr.‘s Tony Stark (and essentially moviegoers, as well) “It’s me and I’m here, so get over it and move on,” fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been 100% behind Don Cheadle as War Machine. He was great in Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3, and the worst part of his performance in Avengers: Age of Ultron is that it was all too brief. Now, fans are looking forward to seeing him in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War and, according to Cheadle, Rhodey plays a “pivotal” role in the film. You can find out what he had to say recently at the Sundance Film Festival, but first a word of caution: While this article doesn’t contain any confirmed spoilers from Civil War, those wishing to remain completely oblivious to the film until they see it should stop reading now.

Captain America’s woes know no end. First, he gets superpowers only to end up getting frozen at the end of the war, woke up years later to an even more confusing time, does what he thinks is right only to get branded as a traitor and hunted down by a misguided federal agency and on top of all that he’ll also have to duke it out with some of his Avengers buddies. The guy can’t catch a break. While most of us just have to be content with the few trailers put out for Captain America: Civil WarJames Gunn (the man behind the runaway Marvel movie hit Guardians of the Galaxy) was invited to attend an early screening of the latest Russo Brothers movie. In fact it’s happening more often than you think. Such is the case of Tom Holland and his role as Spider-Man in the upcoming Russo brother’s Captain America: Civil War. Let’s let Holland explain it to you. (more…)
