Despite early complaints about She-Ra’s design not being sexy enough, Netflix’s She-Ra and The Princesses of Power series has made a huge splash. Fans have fallen in love with the inclusive, diverse, and beautiful show. With the strong and powerful Adora, bold but insecure Glimmer, and the overexcited, intelligent Bow, the main cast drives each episode with gusto. Even if the intro theme song sometimes gives a harsh reminder that the show’s made for kids, people of all ages can enjoy and appreciate it.
However, what’s gotten the biggest buzz about She-Ra is its open and casual acceptance of LGBTQ+ people and relationships. Bow has two fathers. Two different allies are in a serious relationship (Netossa and Spinerella). Adora and Catra have romantic undertones so heavy that they could drown an entire city.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. So many of us grew up with the uber-macho He-Man and his alter ego, Prince Adam. He-Man had unfortunately named teammates like Fisto and Ram-Man. He fought Skeletor for the safety of Greyskull. And what little boy or girl in the 80s didn’t yell ‘I HAVE… THE POWAAAAAH!” at least once a day? He-Man spawned the spin-off She-Ra, his long lost sister who had her own power sword and alter ego. But just as She-Ra has gotten a heavy reboot, it seems its time for He-Man’s. But how true to the source material will it stay? Or the more important question may be ‘How much fanboy rage will spill out onto keyboards and out into the internet’? With the lead casting announcement, the answer is probably “a lot”.
The Princess of Power makes a come back on Netflix! And her new look is stirring up emotions in internet trolls everywhere. They can’t get over her knew look! The internet is buzzing with talk of ‘the ideal woman’ and She-Ra’s boobs. But why are internet trolls climbing out of their basements to gab away about an 80s cartoon reboot designed for young girls?
While doing a panel at Wizard World Chicago over the weekend, fan favorite Nathan Fillion was asked which superhero he’s like to play on the big screen. Remember that he’s dipped one foot into Marvel‘s Cinematic Universe in Guardians of the Galaxy and the other in DC‘s animated features voicing Green Lantern, so there is a slew of characters for him to choose from. Which did he pick? (more…)
For those of you still following the tales of He-Man, you’re probably already well-aware of the latest DC comic book incarnation of the character. The new(er) He-Man and the Masters of the Universe comic series is already up to issue #18 and the latest development is the rise of one of the He-Man universe’s most well-known characters – She-Ra. But this time, the female counterpart to the burly defender of Eternia is looking a bit more battle worthy. Scroll on to see She-Ra’s new look. (more…)
It’s an idea so stupid it’s a wonder that a She-Ra series hasn’t always been made for NBC already. Sorry if you clicked on this article and thought it was real news, but as it turns out it was just a hilarious notion the good folks at Funny or Die had.
In the below “preview,” which is heavily influenced by NBC’s attempted Wonder Woman series, we see Kylie Minogue as She-Ra battle Skeletor, get arrested for it, get busted out of prison by special guest star He-Man before launching into a “very special episode.” One also has to appreciate the attention to detail as well, as the fake ad perfectly parodies the real NBC ads.
Prepare to laugh (or die) by pressing play on the video below.

The Interwebz, where nerd art runs wild. Oh, and they draw a lot too. Yes, in the dark alleys of the internet it can mean the inner child crushing experience of finding out the unseen gadgets that Inspector Gadget had (you don’t want to see). Other times? Oh those other times… it’s fantastic and magical drawings that make the imagination soar and the geek spirit reach new heights.
It’s time for a Nerd Art Dump.
ABOVE: “Face it Tiger, I’m a better “Spider-Man” then you’ll ever be. I have boobs” Mary Jane Watson taking over the role of New York’s web slinging wall-crawler and the skin tight suit doesn’t help too much… It works just perfectly. [Red Headed Jackpot]

Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The boys of Marvel/DC would like to wish you a Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving and share what they’re thankful for. Like Ghost Rider, whose thankful for second chances.
For your Monday morning…err afternoon enjoyment here’s video of sexy women being painted to look like some of our favorite super women. Plus, they’re Brazilian, and being painted up for Rio De Janeiro’s Carnival. The video is NSFW, nipple can been seen on more than one these lovely ladies. Watch over at io9 and if you need even more super-powered, body-painted eye candy click over to Globo (sign-in required). Bleeding Cool also managed some screencaps, which are below the jump, which are again NSFW. Unless everyone else at work wants to look at titties, then I think your all right.
Body painting adds a hint of realism to what are usually outrageously designed costumes. And these women, just like women in comics, have the ability for their boobs to defy gravity. It’s just not fair! You’ll never see Wonder Woman or Elektra have a saggy day, never. Grr. Of course for me, personally, I wouldn’t mind if they had painted up a few fellas. Ryan Reynold’s Green Lantern costume already looks painted on, they should just skip out on the CGI and paint him up.
