This week on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., we pick up right where we left off with last week’s after-credits scene. Lorelei is done with the newlywed groom that she stole from his bride, and is moving on to building her army. Hot on her trail, however, is the lovely Asgardian warrior Lady Sif, who’s come to Earth to bring the seducing sorceress back to their home planet for her crimes across the realms. (more…)
Agents of SHIELD hasn’t been the breakout hit everyone expected. Failing to continue drawing large audiences after its premiere, the series now turns to guest appearances to bolster its sagging popularity. Bill Paxton will soon guest star in a four episode arc and there’s even a requisite Stan Lee cameo, but it’ll take a goddess to truly make an impact on Agents of SHIELD. (more…)
Jaimie Alexander is no stranger to portraying a kick-ass lady in a superhero film or talking about the potential of Wonder Woman appearing in a superhero film. So it comes at no surprise that when MTV caught up with the Thor: The Dark World star they asked about the possibility of her playing Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman, as has been incessantly rumored. (more…)
Superhero movies are often treated as top secret, classified projects. No one involved is ever allowed to even hint about their development, yet, over and over again actors and actresses are caught slipping up and revealing possible, crucial information. Are they simply the worst secret keepers ever or is there some ulterior motives at work? Perhaps they’re meant to slip up such teases in order to test the waters? That could be exactly what’s happened at this weekend’s Comikaze where Thor: The Dark World star, Jaime Alexander admitted she’s been in talks with “both companies” – DC/Warner Bros. and Marvel – about future projects. (more…)
You’ll soon be seeing Jaimie Alexander making the publicity rounds for her appearance in the latest Arnold Schwarzenegger film The Last Stand and many of those interviews will turn the to the topic of her role as Sif in the upcoming Thor: The Dark World. She recently sat down with IAmRogue to talk about the Marvel Studios project.
“We sort of explore the Sif/Thor relationship a little bit. It’s more getting a feel of who these people are and how they are the way they are with each other.”
They go on to discuss the change in director with Kenneth Branagh turning over the reins to Alan Taylor, the recasting of Zachary Levi as Fandral, and the overall darker tone of Thor’s third big screen appearance post The Avengers movie. Check it out in the video below.
Thor: The Dark World takes place in the aftermath Marvel’s The Avengers, as Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos when an ancient race, led by the vengeful Malekith, return to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
Bringing those incredible action movies we all love to life is no easy task, especially for the actors and their stunt stand-ins who recreate insane and dangerous scenes for our viewing pleasure. Over the year’s we’ve all read tragic stores of a stuntman losing his life while one set or actors injuring themselves when they push too far, and today’s story is no different, but thankfully the injured party is reportedly one the mend.
Jaimie Alexander has been on set in London filming for Thor: The Dark World where she plays the Asgardian warrior, Sif. On Monday she sent out this tweet which had everyone pretty worried,
Today I sustained a pretty horrible injury. I’m lucky I’m not paralyzed. Thank you (with all of my heart) to those who’ve looked after me.
Well, that’s a relief! We here at Nerd Bastards are hoping Alexander recovers quickly, we need her at her fighting best to help Thor defend Midgard, Asgard, and whatever other realms are being threatened in the upcoming sequel.
The Avengers releases in a few months time, in about 16 weeks, not that we’re seriously counting or anything. After that the big guns, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America have sequels on their way and it seems these flicks are finally getting under way. Robert Downey Jr. was recently raving of Iron Man 3, a director has finally been found for Thor 2 and its script is getting some rewrites from Saving Private Ryan scribe Robert Rodat.
Jamie Alexander, the ass kickin’ lady of the Asgardian boys club, Sif, recently revealed in an interview with MTV we could see her and Thor get a little closer in the next movie.
I’m a comic book nerd at heart, so I’d like to see the relationship between Thor and Sif progress. Whether or not they do that, we’re not sure yet. We’ll see. I think that element will be in there, but I don’t know how much.
Of course we know Thor and Sif have a past full of romantic entanglements and shared battlefields, but where would this leave Jane Foster? Y’know, the brainy chick Natalie Portman played. While Thor and Jane went their separate ways at the end of Thor there’s still a chance she’s not out of his life yet. Could we have a love triangle in Thor 2? Sounds likely, and who doesn’t want to see Alexander and Portman throw down over the Thunder God?
MTV also asked Alexander if we’ll be seeing her at all in The Avengers, to which she coyly responded,
I can’t tell you. Sometimes you never know. It’ll be funny—they’ll call you and they’ll do a post-credits scene and you go, ‘Oh, so everything I said in interviews is completely wrong.’ So you never know!
What do you think? Is there a good chance we’ll see Thor and Sif hooking up in a sequel?
And you gotta admit, that is damn romantic graphic above, right?

It’s a regular ‘ole “Battle of the Sugar Plum Sabers” in this audition video for Santa’s elves. Who knew it could be so cutthroat to snag one of those mall jobs. (The Mary Sue)
