As much as Luke Cage was a story about the titular character, the breakout star of the Netflix series was Misty Knight, played by actress Simone Missick. The detective who was entwined with Luke Cage throughout the first season was a highlight for many fans of the show and they were very impressed with Missick’s portrayal of the character. Comic book fans know that she and Colleen Wing eventually join up and together become “The Daughters of the Dragon,” a crime-fighting duo who rival Luke Cage and Iron Fist’s Heroes For Hire. One of Misty’s signature traits from the comic book is her bionic arm.
Sweet Christmas! We are only four months away from the debut of ‘Marvel’s Luke Cage‘ on Netflix and it feels like it can’t get here quick enough! Fortunately some new photos surfaced online taken from the ‘Luke Cage’ set. Netflix‘s IronFist has cast the second half of the Daughters of the Dragon. Simone Missick was cast as Misty Knight in the upcoming first season of Luke Cage and now Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones) has been cast as Colleen Wing for the fourth Netflix Marvel series Iron Fist. That makes at least two actors from Game of Thrones in the series, Henwick and Finn Jones as the lead Danny Rand, could more be on the horizon? (more…)
It’s that time again, time to get excited about the beginning of another Marvel Netflix series. With Jessica Jones set to debut in November, and Daredevil now filming season two, it looks like Luke Cage is about to start his mission to make the streets safer on the series of the same name. How do we know? Well, the series has a soft release date of 2016 for one thing, but more tellingly, it looks like the cast is starting to shape up. Marvel Studios has announced four new actors cast for Cage, including one who looks like she may end up being the Nick Fury of Marvel’s street level heroes. (more…)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to debut its next series on Netflix, Jessica Jones by the end of the year. In addition to featuring the character of Jessica Jones, a former superheroine turned private investigator, it will also feature the debut of superhero Luke Cage, who will then go on to star in his own Netflix series. While the Luke Cage Netflix series will be premiering sometime in 2016, casting is now well underway. Villains and heroes are now taking shape.
It is known that Mike Colter (The Good Wife) will play Luke Cage, while Oscar-nominee Alfre Woodard is reportedly onboard – and now, more familiar TV actors have just joined the hard-bitten series. (more…)
