The big thing in Hollywood of late has been reboots of old shows. After the success of the many iterations of Star Trek and the Ronald D. Moore update to the venerable Battlestar Galactica in 2004. There seems to be a predilection toward recreating old series instead of creating something new.
With reboots of well-known and popular shows like The Jetsons, Lost in Space, and The X-Files all getting updates for the modern era, there are lots of shows that deserve a chance at their own re-imagining.
We here at NerdBastards are fans of Nerdery far and wide, ranging from the old and silly (Ice Pirates) to the incredibly hokey but so awesome you want it to be real (Small Wonder). When I was a kid I was a huge fan of Small Wonder in the same way I loved Gummi Bears and Camp Candy. Tiffany Brisssette, the underrated and sadly, typecast Vicki the Robot. (more…)

When I was growing up I remember simply: having a good time. We used to play Kick The Can and Hide and Seek and climb trees. We would roll ourselves down the small hill in the neighborhood and play in the woods. We would stay out late during the summer and go in and out of the neighbor’s houses playing video games in the basement or playing Barbie’s in the bedrooms. We would have sleepovers almost every weekend and stay up late planning the next day’s activities. We also had great television! Nowadays it is full of reality crap that no one gives a damn about. Back then, and I’m talking the 80’s and early 90’s, there was so much GOOD television. Interesting shows that you just could NOT miss. Shows you would skip dinner for and shows you would purposely loose Kick The Can for. I remember those shows and they will always have a special place in my heart. So here they are, in no particular order (and please feel free to let me know what your FAVES are as well)…
