Sophie Turner

ew-cover-apocThat is, he actually kinda sorta looks like he is suppose to look.

When the internet got it’s first look at Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse in the villains eponymous X-Men movie,  well let’s say it was less than kind. Yes, we all know he bore an uncanny resemblance to a certain oozy purple Power Ranger villain and yes it was kind of rough seeing the big budget Hollywood blockbuster costume pale in comparison to some great, source clinging cosplay. Well, maybe that’s not his final form?

XMenNewz has posted some photos that, if legit, might make even the most cynical X-Fan rest a little easier about En Sabah Nur’s big screen debut. It also might spoil parts of the movie so the pic and a super special surprise bonus are up after the jump.  (more…)

Producer Simon Kinberg, tweeted this photo today featuring Pop Music Mega Star Taylor Swift hanging out with X-Men: Apocalypse stars James McAvoy (Professor X) and Sophie Turner (Jean Grey). Look at McAvoy’s head shine, he must have just touched up that chrome dome with a razor that morning. Now this could just be an on set visit from a celebrity X-Men fan, but could this be something much more? (more…)

‘X-MEN: Apocalypse’ Casts Lana Condor As Jubilee

what-jubilee-s-casting-means-for-x-men-apocalypse-323092

Director Bryan Singer dropped the bomb that at least three people have been waiting to hear, that we’ll see Jubilation Lee in the upcoming sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past, titled X-Men: Apocalypse played by newcomer Lana Condor!  No word yet on whether she’ll be a principal cast member, or just shooting stuff in the background with her laser pop rocks in full Anime form.  Of course given that production starts next month, we’re guessing she is probably going to be Sophie Turner’s roommate or something.  Check it out, nerds – we’re going to do something very few news outlets have tried in the past, we are going to defend Jubilee. Bryan-Singer-x-men

Exciting times, people! X-Men: Apocalypse inches closer to the start of production, and the news just keeps on coming. You might recall how active that director Bryan Singer was during the production of X-Men: Days of Future Past, offering glimpses and glimmers at the movie through social media. Well, it seems as if he’s at it again with the coming Apocalypse, showing off some of the construction presently happening on set, and a very familiar set at that. Meanwhile, one of the new cast members is talking about her new role, or rather playing the younger version of an old role that goes right back to the very first X-Men film. (more…)

Storm-Cyclops-Jean-Grey-X-Men

One of the most fascinating and frustrating things about the X-Men film series has been the casting. On the one hand they nailed it by recruiting actors like Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen to play Wolverine, Professor X and Magneto respectively, but then fall flat bringing on Halle Berry to play Storm. I will submit that it may not be entirely Berry’s fault, and suggest that Storm never had much of a beefy role in the franchise (did she say more than three lines in Days of Future Past?), but through the glories of time travel, the X-Men franchise is looking to correct past mistakes (or missteps). Bryan Singer has announced the latest additions of the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse, the new and younger versions of Cyclops, Storm and Jean Grey. (more…)

It feels like filming for Game of Thrones Season 3 only just began in Dubrovnik, Croatia but already they’re nearing a wrap. Tomorrow they’re set to finish in Croatia and move out to Morocco, leaving today as the last day the Croatian papers will be filled with photos from the set. Captured by Dulist, Dubrovacki Vjesnik, and Portal Oko here’s some shots of Sansa (Sophie Turner), Shae (Sibel Kekilli), Ros (Esme Bianco) and Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) filming a scene,

As readers of the book surely know we’ll see some significant events between Littlefinger and Sansa very soon, but what part Shae and Ros will play in these instances I’m not so sure. Clearly they’ll be involved as see in the filming above.

In addition to the set photos – more at WinterIsComing.netPortal Oko snagged a quick interview with writers/executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss,

Game of Thrones returns in 176 days!
