Here it is for as long as it lasts. The trailer for The Amazing Spiderman. Interesting that his parents are shown at all in this trailer, perhaps they are in the movie to set the tone for Peter’s feeling of loss and set up future movie plot lines? In the comics his parents were never discussed until the “Secret Agents of SHIELD” story line with the Red Skull. Wait, wasn’t the Red Skull just in the Captain America movie? Could there be a future Spiderman / Captain America movie ala Marvel Teamup?
I’ll stop rambling now and let you watch the damn trailer.
So! Now that the Spider-Man franchise is going back to Peter Parker’s teenage years and Sam Raimi and friends won’t even get to be part of it, what’s the movie going to be like? (more…)
The current penning of the Spiderman 4 script has changed hands twice. It started with James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) and was then re-written by edgy American play wright David Lindsay-Abaire, and now it’s making a third round. Variety reports that Gary Ross (Seabiscuit) is taking over. Generally when a script changes hands like this, it’s a bad sign. In most cases it means the movie is going to suck. However, have faith! I believe that this will be in exception to that notion. Ross’ work is classy, dramatic, and artful. I’m confident that he can make magic happen and re-instill our faith in the Spiderman franchise.
