Spyder Artic Pro

A quick  recap for our new and/or  stoned readers… A company called Wicked Lasers became an internet sensation with the creation of  real working ligtsaber (read about it here). Ol’ George Lucas himself caught wind of this monster and was none to happy, so LucasFilm slapped the boys at Wicked with a cease and desist letter (read about that here). Essentially cockblocking us all. We were so close friends, but in my sadness I digress. Wicked Lasers being the awesome mother fuckers that they are have put up the original cease and desist letter they received from LucasFilm for sale on eBay. Smart boys, got to have some way to pay the lawyers. Last we checked the auction was up to $585 with four days to go.(LINK!) The item description reads;

Up for grabs is the original, authentic Lucasfilm Ltd. Cease & Desist letter sent to Wicked Lasers in response to their new 1W Arctic 445nm laser.

The term “Danderman” is found on the footer of select pages which leads us to conclude that this document is from the desk of David Anderman himself.

Law.com describes David as the “enforcer of Lucasfilm’s worldwide intellectual property.”

While we hope that Lucasfilm reconsiders their position and merit, we are prepared to defend the rights of our customers and those of the laser industry.

Someone PLEASE buy this. We’ll update you in four days and let you know what the final selling price is. If any of our readers ends up the lucky winner contact us, we’ll have a few questions for you! Son of a bitch! As you may know we posted a few weeks back that a company called Wicked Lasers has manufactured a real working lightsaber, well as it turns out George Lucas and his attorneys were none to thrilled with the idea of a (and I’m quoting Wicked Lasers here) product that the creator refers to as   “the most dangerous laser ever created”  and that  “extremely dangerous is an understatement.”

So guess who got a cease and desist letter (also known as a cockblock)?

Earlier this week, Wicked Lasers released photos and information regarding the “Pro Arctic Laser,” a product designed to resemble the famous lightsaber hilt from the Star Wars Saga. Described by Wicked Lasers as “the most dangerous laser ever created,” the product description goes on to say that “extremely dangerous is an understatement.”

Lucasfilm’s General Counsel David Anderman had this response:

“It has come to our attention that a company called Wicked Lasers is selling a highly dangerous product out of Hong Kong that is designed to look like a lightsaber from Star Wars. This product is not licensed or approved by Lucasfilm in any way. We have demanded that Wicked Lasers immediately cease and desist their infringing activities. As Wicked Lasers itself admits, this product can cause serious injury to the user and other people. We strongly discourage consumers from purchasing it.”

No where on the actual site does it say the word ‘lightsaber’, but to any Nerd it’s fairly obvious that’s what they were going for.  I say let’s hurry and buy one, before we get blue balls.
