In a Marvel film, you can always count on a few things. It’s going to be entertaining as hell, and there will no doubt be a Stan Lee cameo. Considered the godfather of Marvel (and comic books in general), Stan Lee is responsible for giving us most of the characters we hold dear to our hearts. Although the 94-year-old has since retired from his position at Marvel, he almost always has made cameos in the films based on his properties.
Stan Lee is pretty much a literal deity nowadays. Having created many of our favorite comic book characters he’s already a national treasure. Given that now many of his superheroes are now on the big screen en-masse, it’s is a certainty that he will have a cameo in any film based on his characters. That’s not limited to Marvel Studios films as he has also cameos in Deadpool, The Spider-Man films, the original Fantastic Four films, as well as the X-Men films. It’s almost a certainty that he will show up in a film based on Marvel characters. However, the elephant in the room is that he’s not getting any younger. The 93-year-old is finally trying to slow down in his later years as he’s stopped traveling for many conventions and is trying to take it easy. With so many upcoming Marvel films, is he going to be making his cameos anymore?
You can probably count the number of British superheroes on the fingers of one hand. You can certainly count the number of British superhero television shows on one stump. Seemingly not content with dominating multiplexes around the globe with Avengers, Guardians and whatnot and flooding various networks and streaming services with their high-quality brethren, sprightly 93 year old Stan Lee has now turned his attention to little old Blighty with Lucky Man. Or rather Stan Lee’s Lucky Man, to give it it’s full title. (more…)
The recipe is always the same – if it’s a Marvel movie then Stan Lee is going to end up poking his face in there somewhere. Usually he gets about 5 seconds of face-time and a single line, but having the comic book icon in every film is pretty much a given. With the sequel to Amazing Spider-Man in the works, we can expect Stan to be back once again, though this time he’s pushing for something a little more.
In a recent Collider interview with Marc Webb about Amazing Spider-Man 2, Stan barged his way in to state his case. After bestowing the usual stream of compliments that accompanies any Stan Lee appearance, he attempted to sell Webb on the importance of giving him a bigger role.

I say give him a full-on starring role! At 89 years, Stan doesn’t have much more time with us on this planet and we might as well let him play before he’s gone from us forever.
