Star Destroyer

Forget J.J. Abrams and Star Wars Episode VII! What we really want to talk about is Episode VIII! Rian Johnson, a beloved director thanks to his contributions to Breaking Bad and cult movies like Brick, The Brothers Bloom and Looper, was announced as the man behind the next, next chapter of the new Star Wars trilogy earlier this summer, and while he’s not going to be talking about major plot points or casting (yet), he is in a position to discuss his feelings about being thrown into such a high pressure project, and reinforcing the seemingly new aesthetic in the Star Wars universe, which is to go more practical. All that and new spoilers about Episode VII after the jump. (more…)

The Interwebz is a great place for nerdy art and the like. A lot of the time it’s fuckin’ weird shit like Bert and Ernie comparing dildos and shit like that. But there are a lot of awesome things that we see on a daily basis, and we’re lazy nerd bastards so we just round them all up once a week for your nerdgasm glory.

I love this! Click the picture for a full-sized version. Ever wondered what the top ‘net browsers, Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari would look like as chicks in hawt dresses? Probably not. But here you have it, anyway! Credit goes to the very talented Moie “Eskimoie” Preisenberger.

Good god, how I would like to own one of these. The folks over at OneMoreGadget have created an interesting concept for an umbrella. What you see above is the Star Destroyer umbrella, the umbrella that could help you get through a hurricane or at least a rain of lasers.

All right, while this may not be happening at all, it has made me think about a Millennium Falcon umbrella or a Tie Fighter umbrella. Sure, the weather might ruin the design over time but there would be a market for it. What do y’all think? Would you want a Star Destroyer umbrella or do you have an idea for another kind of an umbrella?
