The Summer X-Games over the weekend provided us with a childhood memory treat. Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy successfully completed their record-breaking stunt of racing two cars through a vertical loop. The 60-foot-tall loop made of 125 tons of steel was modeled after the Double Dare Snare Hot Wheels toy.

Both drivers had to maintain a steady speed of 52 mph and endure 7 Gs during the loop to make it through. Taz’s Texas Tornado at Six Flags AstroWorld in Texas pulls 6.2 G’s. Check out how that stacks up and how it effects pilots in the G force chart below.

That is some heavy G force to endure while trying to steer a car, luckily there were no problems during the stunt and the time the two actually endured that level of G’s was short.

Makes you want to jump in the car though doesn’t it? This NerdBastard remembers making Hot Wheel tracks with two loops that went down three flights of stairs, it was 10 year old epic.

Would you get in the car if offered the opportunity?

What other childhood toy would you like to see brought to real life?

With Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark turning folks away from any kind of superhero stage (If you’re the one guy/gal excited for this then please give us some of that crazy ass medication you’re on.) show I dunno why we would even acknowledge this ‘Batman Live’ shenanigans. Batman: Turn Off The Dark… Knight ‘Batman Live’ being a live stage show that will feature classic characters such as Alfred and even Batman’s trusty sidekick Robin, and villains like the Joker, Riddler, Catwoman, and the Penguin. It is planned to premiere in Manchester this July, and which will then embark upon a tour of arenas in the UK and Europe before moving to US arenas in summer 2012.

Producer Nick Grace (Walking With Dinosaurs, Mamma Mia!) has been flapping his gums that they went all  huge scale and went with arenas because they can accommodate “pyrotechnics and large video screens and lots of action.”

Backing up his statement comes some set designs, which give us a better sense of what kind of direction this production is taking. Take a look after the jump to to check em’ out, as well as see more details on the show itself.

Jackass for Girls

As one of the few girly bastards that write for us, I thought I’d put up something for the other geeky girls out there.  However, I think guys will enjoy this as well.  CollegeHumor recently gave us a super funny video called, Jackass for GIrls.  What’s particularly funny about this is how average but nonetheless gross the events that take place in the video are.  As a woman, I gotta say the one that really got me was shaving without water and shaving cream!   And for the guys out there, the lead girl is pretty cute.  Hope you guys find this as outrageously funny as I did!
