He’s an advance-planner, that Bryan Singer is. In addition to currently cultivating the “greater” X-Men universe by directing the last few X-Films, he’s also leading the charge on the forthcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. It’s been recently rumored that he would also direct Fantastic Four 2, and now comes word that there is a long-term strategy starting to take shape that would allow him to direct an X-Men/FF crossover film.
So the success of Man of Steel means we’re going to get that Justice League movie good and fast, right? Well hold your horses there bub, because Superman himself is saying that it’s not as easy as all that.
While talking with Peter Travers of ABC News, Man of Steel star Henry Cavill says that Justice League could happen if it’s done right, but it’s going to be tough to bring all these characters together in one narrative and do it in a convincing way. So basically, Henry says relax…
“Justice League, more movies, I have no idea. Justice League could be great if done correctly. It’s a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all god-like in their power. So in this real world setting we’re telling our story in, it’s going to be tough to achieve that and it has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought. So, it won’t be right away, I hope it’s not anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another. I think it would be great to do, but I don’t think it’s around the corner.”
So much for a previous report that suggested that Man of Steel 2 and Justice League were going to be made back-to-back and released in 2014 and 2015. Something tells me they’re going to want to keep the new, successful Superman on side for any future endeavors. Check out the full video interview below.
