This week on the show: (more…)
Good news, everyone. It’s true. The first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released this weekend. And in the tradition of Professor Farnsworth, the term “good news” also has a downside, because there are only so many theaters in the country that plan on showing it. As per our report on the weekend, 100 movie theaters in the U.S. this Thanksgiving weekend will show the 90 second teaser for The Force Awakens in front of every single movie, all weekend long. What theaters, you may ask? How long a drive will it be for those of you anxious to chase the Star Wars dragon? Read on… (more…)
Before I begin, can we stop? I mean, when the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens happens, it will happen. Imagine the fun and joy of going into the movie theater one weekend and then – BOOM! – there it is. I know, I know, we live in the era where there are trailers for the trailer in order to feed the steady diet of hype we all need, but there’s precious little value in surprise anymore. Having said that – Surprise! – there are more rumors this weekend concerning that first teaser for Episode VII, one that suggests you won’t have to wait as long as the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies to get your first look at that galaxy far, far away as envisioned by J.J. Abrams. (more…)

Nerdy Bits, The Sh*t You Skipped: George R.R. Martin – Master of Surprise, Epic & Bizarre He-Man Parade Float, LEGO Modern Warfare 3 and MOAR!
Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.
Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at email@example.com.
The boys of Marvel/DC would like to wish you a Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving and share what they’re thankful for. Like Ghost Rider, whose thankful for second chances.

This is the time of year to be reflective and look at the things in our lives that bring us joy and happiness. (Que birds chirping, light that double rainbow!) For many of us it’s a tough time with the economy struggling and families fighting to stay afloat. (Que Empire theme music . . . Dum, dum, dum, dum, da dum, dum, da dum.) It’s easy to forget the good things. The simple things that make us smile each morning and dream each night, but that’s for regular people.
We’re Nerd Bastards!
We’re not worried about the everyday things, we’ve got those covered. We have Rumbas to clean our floors, web cameras to watch our homes, Ipads – Ipods – Iphones – Ipoops – and any other techno babble item you can stick an “I” in front of to help us through our day.
So what should Nerd Bastards be thankful for?
I’m so glad you asked:
Breakout your copy of Grindhouse to watch the best parts…The faux trailers in between the two seperated films. Director/Actor Eli Roth has announced he is finishing up a sci-fi film “Endangered Species” which he intends to direct. But the biggest news in this double feature is that the Bear Jew is actually penning “Thanksgiving”. One of the fake trailers FOR Grindhouse. The Hollywood Reporter skinned it:
Roth added that he is penning a script for the horror flick “Thanksgiving,” which originally appeared as a faux trailer for Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s “Grindhouse.” He is directing, producing and possibly acting in the film.
One of the funnier trailers with more of the gruesome visuals and an even more disturbing voiceover. I’m psyched Roth is getting back to writing and directing. He is a good actor, but I love his innovation behind the laptop. Score one for the horror fans.
