the empire strikes back 30th anniversary

Star Wars Weekends at Disney

Disney holds annual Star Wars Weekends and May 21st kicked off the 2010 edition. If you’re a Star Wars fan and are going to be in the area for the 2010 Dates: May 21 – 23, May 28 – 30, June 4 – 6, June 11 – 13 I strongly suggest you go!  Name a Star Wars character and they are present. Complete with Mickey as Luke , Minnie as Leia, Jedi Training and a battle with Darth Vader! Stick around after the jump for all the information and a video of this years motorcade (it’s SO AWESOME!).

This years celebrity guest include Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka) , Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett), Daniel Logan (young Bobba Fett) and Dee Bradley Baker (Capt. Rex).

Disney’s website says;

Star Wars Weekends is an annual special event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park that celebrates the legendary Star Wars Saga and the animated television series, The Clone Wars. This year, celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back as you join Jedi Knights, Sith Lords and Star Wars celebrities for special shows, presentations and memorabilia.

Fans of the Star Wars universe don’t have to travel to “a galaxy far, far away” to come face to face with droids, alien creatures and many of their favorite Star Warscharacters.

Younglings can hone their lightsaber skills and prepare to do battle with Darth Vader himself at the Jedi Training Academy. Prove yourself the master of trivia in contests with prize giveaways. Board a runaway Starspeeder on the Star Tours attraction, or stare in awe as visitors from Naboo, Endor and every world between pass by in a motorcade.

This is possibly the most awesome thing EVER!

Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the wholesome droll-some, sad sack sequel to the  best Star Wars, A New Hope, is an upcoming book with never before seen photos. I have the 120 buck 3 Book Collectors encyclopedia and yet still feel compelled to buy this new book. Entertainment Weekly has a great Expose’, the Star Wars Exclusive, with a great cover and some nice tidbits inside for you. I often toss out a lot of my EW’s into recycling when I’m done, but some of the gems?? I keep. This cover is suitable for framing! Out on shelves now. The new Empire Book will be released Oct. 2010.
