The Guardians of the Galaxy

Well, the big Marvel baddie being in the Avengers sequel isn’t really all that surprising since he was the mid-credit scene (sorry for the spoiler no one, since by now everyone and their mom has seen the movie.) Now Thanos also being the villain (or one of them at least) in the space rodent movie,  Guardians Of The Galaxy was nothing but a fanboy assumption. Well he is, according to Cosmic Book News, apparently they had someone on at Montreal Comic-Con over the weekend that spoke with the Mad Titan’s creator, Jim Starlin, and he confirmed it.

“Armand Rock attended the recent Montreal Comic-Con and spoke with Jim Starlin who said that the deal is already in place. Jim Starlin even mentioned that Thanos will appear in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie in 2014 and The Avengers 2 in 2015.”

Now, Cosmic Book News goes on to add that Guardians of the Galaxy may have more than one bad guy saying that Adam Warlock and The Magus are rumored to also face off against Rocket Raccoon and friends. I find that last bit a little harder to believe, but you never know.

What I am more intrigued by, and this is just pure speculation on my part, the thought that we will see hints of Thanos in some of the Marvel Phase 2 movies. With Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World  and, Iron Man 3 all up in the next year or so that leaves a lot of room to tease us with old wrinkle chin.

Now that The Avengers is just weeks away (not counting that whole world premiere thing that already happened) and by the looks of things is poised to dominate at the box office, Marvel Studios is already prepared to follow up with the further expansion of their movie universe.

The studios top man, Kevin Feige, has been gently releasing some info on the next wave of movies: Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2 – which we all knew were coming, but apparently Guardians of the GalaxyAnt-ManDr. Strange and even The Inhumans are all in seeing some movement.
