Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut.
Monday through Friday we’ll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at email@example.com.
Witness what might be the greatest costume…ever. For a dog anyway. Meet the Wampug.
Every year I make a new costume for my girl Chubbs and this year was no exception. This year she became the dreaded Hoth Wampug! Here she coming directly from her photoshoot and looking cute as can be!
I take back everything I’v ever said about how dumb and pathetic animals look dressed in costumes. Because this is too awesome, too adorable, and guys, she’s a Wampug. Fuck, if they could collect the DNA of the fictional creature, the Wampa, and blend it with a pug’s, it would be the single greatest pet ever. (Laughing Squid)
The first trailer we saw for The Immortals was epic in its visuals, but not very clear on the story. In this second trailer we’re given a good explanation of the plot, basically a gods vs titans vs men trifecta, and even more awesome, slow motion fight scenes. A win, win all around.
Offering another look at Henry Cavill before he dons the capes and tight for the Big Blue Boy Scout, the trailer makes Immortals look badass. Everything Clash of the Titans tried to achieve and failed, and everything the new Conan is hoping for. I only hope it lives up to promise. I’m really intrigued by the gods vs titans with men on either side warring it out dynamic, and did I spot a kick-ass Athena in there? I think I did, and that’s baller.
The Immortals opens on the coveted, 11-11-11 and stars Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Freida Pinto, Stephen Dorff, John Hurt, Kellan Lutz and is directed by Tarsem Singh.
The clip is from E! News so unfortunately the quality could be better, especially for Tarsem Singh‘s incredible visuals. Starring Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke, Kellan Lutz and Freda Pinto, The Immortals is shaping up to be the film Clash of Titans wishes it was. You should check out this clip for a peak at our new Man of Steel, Cavill as Theseus; a stonemason who leads a rebellion against an evil king bent on ruling Olympus.
For the full synopsis,
The brutal and bloodthirsty King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) and his murderous Heraklion army are rampaging across Greece in search of the long lost Bow of Epirus. With the invincible Bow, the king will be able to overthrow the Gods of Olympus and become the undisputed master of his world. With ruthless efficiency, Hyperion and his legions destroy everything in their wake, and it seems nothing will stop the evil king’s mission.
As village after village is obliterated, a stonemason named Theseus (Henry Cavill) vows to avenge the death of his mother in one of Hyperion’s raids. When Theseus meets the Sybelline Oracle, Phaedra (Freida Pinto), her disturbing visions of the young man’s future convince her that he is the key to stopping the destruction. With her help, Theseus assembles a small band of followers and embraces his destiny in a final desperate battle for the future of humanity.
The Immortals opens November 11th. Thinks it’s looking good?
