I’m not one of those people that loses my mind over the desgin aethetic that Michael Bay brought to his series of four (so far) Transformers movies, but as someone that grew up playing with the original toys and watching the Generation One cartoon, it’s nice to see those characters look how they’re supposed to look again. To what do I refer? The upcoming game Transformers: Devastation, which features several playable characters who all look like how you remember them if you were born before the year 1990, meaning no Bay-formers here. But what does the game itself look like? Are you one of those weirdos that likes to know what your buying when it comes to your gaming entertainment? One of the main complaints (amongst many) about the series of Transformers movies by Michael Bay is that robots in disguise featured in them look nothing like the Transformers we know and love. Of course by that we mean that Bay’s VFX team took a significant departure in the look and style of all the assorted Autobots and Decepticons, so much so that they got their own name, “Bay-formers.” So a lot of you have been missing those good old days from the 80s, and someone has heard your call, and they work in the video game industry.
