ultimate spider-man cartoon

here comes spider gwen

Ultimate Spider-Man, a cartoon series on Disney XD starring our favorite web-slinger, is gearing up to the finale of season four and looks to continue the Spider-Verse plot point that had been a part of the third season. The original Spider-Verse arc in the show was a four episode, multi-dimensional adventure that saw Spider-Man travelling to different versions of his universe, all with their own Spider-Man, and teaming up with them. Some fan favorites he met along the way included Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man Noir, and Spider-Girl. This time around, another female wall-crawler is joining the fray who made her initial appearance in the original comic version of the story-line. (more…)

And now, it’s time for another pile of super hero stuff to tease and appease. All the stuff that the Nerdbastards were too lazy to report on during the week is here in one easily digestible package for your enjoyment. So without further ado… The Super Hero Round Up!

First on the list is the latest development in the Warner Bros. versus the estates of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster over Superman copyrights. As most probably know by now, the estate lawyer Marc Toberoff sued the studio and they sued back and it’s been going on for fkn ever. Now the studio wants to have the case thrown out, accusing Toberoff of being unethical, hiding essential information and generally being a lawyer. Is it finally over? Well, we don’t know yet.

A Black Panther movie is on many geek-lists of most desirable new Marvel flicks. Rumors said they were going to do it by 2014, but then they said nope. Now Djimon Hounsou, the voice of Black Panther in the animated series, is putting in his two cents. He says that not only is there a market for a movie, but also that he’d love to be involved in the flick, especially if got to play a live-action version of his animated role. Well, we’ll just have to wait and see if Marvel Studios decides whether Mr. Hounsuo’s words will change their mind.

Since no super hero round up is complete without some toys, here is a look at the cool new Iron Man Mark XLVII armor action figure. It’s on sale from Hasbro and you should go buy it now.

And more toys! With the arrival of a new cartoon series, LEGO is jumping onboard the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles train. Currently, there is only one set available, called the Shellraiser Street Chase. It features some turtles, some bad guys and the Party Wagon and runs about $60. Here’s what it looks like!

More after the jump…
