Ryan Coogler Confirmed as ‘Black Panther’ Director


Everyone on the edge of your seats, now! Marvel‘s making a decision about a new upcoming movie! Eight years and twelve critical and commercial hits later, will they make a good creative decision for the film? Well, look at that! It appears as though, once again, Marvel has made a great decision for one of their properties. After months and months of rumors, Ryan Coogler has finally been confirmed as the director of Black Panther. Coogler is not only a great decision; he’s clearly the very best decision for this film.



Those of us that stuck with Marvel‘s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. through that difficult first season are reaping the benefits of the AOS and Captain America: The Winter Soldier crossover that literally blew up Agent Coulson’s super spy world. The aftermath of that destruction has rejuvenated the series and put Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back on the must watch the night it airs television list. The latest episode, The Writing on the Wall ended with a nifty little nugget that we won’t discuss until after the jump, mainly because we don’t want to spoil anything for those that haven’t watched the episode yet. While principal photography for the sequel to arguably the biggest superhero film in history will be at London’s Pinewood Studios–where Marvel also shot Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World and Guardians of the Galaxy–at least a portion of Avengers: Age of Ultron will apparently be filmed in Cape Town, South Africa (more after the jump).  (more…)
