The truth is still out there, and presumably so is interest in seeing a revival of The X-Files. Fox announced that the possibility is out there last weekend at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, to bring back the successful 90s supernatural procedural in some kind of limited form a la 24: Live Another Day, or Heroes Reborn. Easier said than done, right? It all rides on whether or not original X-Files stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson a) have the time to add the project to their schedules and b) have the interest in returning in the first place. Well wouldn’t you know it, at least one-half of that dynamic duo says they’re ready, willing and able to trust no one again. (more…)

DC-Comics-Firestorm

The writers of The Flash certainly had some brass when they decided to incorporate the DC Comics hero Firestorm into the show. Now Firestorm may not make the front bench of the Justice League, and he may not make the Top 100 of the best-selling superheroes of all time, but his super-power is fire and he’s got, easily, one of the most flamboyant costumes in the entire DC Universe. Now we’ve seen what Firestorm (and actor Robbie “cousin of Arrow’s StephenAmell) looks like when the flame is on – so to speak – but one has to wonder how The Flash will re-interpret the costume for TV. Well wonder no more! Behold, Firestorm’s CW-approved, ready for prime time, updated haute couture. Warning, this may not exactly meet you definition of fighting style. (more…)

Penny-Dreadful-Season-2-Trailer

Showtime‘s wonderfully macabre Penny Dreadful is returning to TV screens everywhere in April. The show made Nerd Bastards’ list of the Top 10 Nerdy shows of 2014, and if you haven’t seen it, it is well worth catching up on before the second season premiere. Led by Timothy Dalton as adventurer Sir Malcolm Murray and the demon possessed Vanessa Ives played by Eva Green, the first season followed Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway), his creature Caliban (Rory Kinnear), the depraved Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney), and American gun hand Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) as they faced evil supernatural forces in Victorian England. But what evil awaits them now in season two? Showtime has now given us a trailer. (more…)
