Well, that didn’t take long. Hot off the heels of the rather bumpy leaked trailer, 20th Century Fox has now released the official trailer for Wolverine’s third solo outing, Logan. Keep in mind, however, that the official trailer is no less bleak than the leaked moments. Take a look. (more…)
Earlier today, Wolverine 3 director James Mangold shared the first official look at Hugh Jackman as Logan. The image revealed and older and hardened Logan with shorter hair, a beard, and noticeable scars on his face. Not to be one-upped by the director, Hugh Jackman himself also took to Twitter and gave fans an even better treat. Jackman unleashed a 6-second video teaser, with a simple post description stating “tomorrow”, clearly signaling the pending release of the highly anticipated full trailer for Logan. (more…)
The third and final Wolverine movie won’t be hitting theaters until March 3, 2017, but that hasn’t stopped the marketing train from hyping the film early. There’s been a lot of stuff released for the film lately, including the films title, a look at one of the villains, a weary Charles Xavier, and several other teases. Now comes another reveal. Director James Mangold unveiled the first image of Jackman as Old Man Logan, and he’s looking as hard-bitten as ever. (more…)
After months of secrecy, the proverbial flood gates have been opened in regards to Logan, the third solo Wolverine film and the final appearance of Hugh Jackman as the berserker mutant who’s the best at what he does. We’ve known for a while who was going to appear in the film, but now we’re finding out who everyone’s playing. The most surprising bit of casting was comedian Stephen Merchant, famous for his collaborations with Ricky Gervais like The Office and Extras, so who could Merchant possibly be playing in the ultra-serious world of the X-Men? It turns out, it’s someone we’ve met in the X-universe before… (more…)
When it comes to comic book movies, some actors completely nail their character and are forever entwined with that role. Robert Downey Jr. comes to mind for his portrayal of Tony Stark in the Marvel Studios films. Ben Affleck looks like it will be the same for him playing Batman after nailing it in one try for the DC films. Of course, when it comes to capturing the iconic roles, none have done it better than Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in all of Fox’s X-Men films. Even though he is gigantic compared to his comic book counterpart he’s essentially Wolverine, and no one can replace him in the role. Fox pretty much build their X-Men cinematic universe around his character as he has been in more movies than any of the other characters. They even swapped Kitty Pride for him in the Days of Future Past film. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. After playing as Wolverine in more than 8 films, Jackman is ready to hang up his claws. His final appearance as Wolverine will be in the upcoming third solo Wolverine film.
Let’s talk about Wolverine 3, which is about six months away from being released but is still as mysterious as Loch Ness Monster. To recap what we think we know: the story may or may not be based on Mark Millar‘s Old Man Logan, the main villain may or may not be Mister Sinister, and along with this being Hugh Jackman‘s last movie as the titular mutant hero, it may or may not also be Patrick Stewart‘s last film as Professor X. What we need here is a bit of clarity. Maybe some kind of trailer… Hint, hint. Well, Jackman himself had something to say about that recently, and along the way he made a promise to fans as to what to expect with Wolverine 3. (more…)
If you stayed till the end of X-Men: Apocalypse when it came out earlier this year, then you know that the post-credits tag hinted at the imminent arrival of Mr. Sinister. Although the character is not that well-known to non-comic book fans, he’s actually a pretty major X-Men villain, and has been the puppet master behind some fairly tragic moments in X-Men history. The fact that Bryan Singer Easter egged Sinister at the end of Apocalypse portended some very bad things, but it turns out that those bad things may be happening much sooner than we expect, like next spring’s untitled Wolverine sequel. Wolverine 3 is currently shooting in New Orleans and today we’ve got the first on set pictures of Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart courtesy of Just Jared. The pair look more than a little scruffy and tired, one can almost hear Lethal Weapon‘s Roger Murtaugh in the back ground saying, “I’m too old for this shit!” Click through the jump to take a look. There are some new rumors floating around the Internet about Hugh Jackman‘s last run at Wolverine. We’ve already heard that Wolverine 3 will be “R” rated, include Patrick Stewart‘s Professor X, and be set in the future drawing heavily on the Old Man Logan story line. This latest bit comes from the Nerdist, reporting a source close to the production, that Wolverine will be facing not just Boyd Holbrook‘s as yet un-named original villain, but a number of familiar Wolverine adversaries.

How was this unknown, musical theatre Aussie with about a foot on Logan going to be able to portray Marvel‘s favorite Canucklehead? Now, it’s almost hard to imagine anyone else in the role, but that’s exactly what fans are going to have to do after Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine is released next year.
