Funny story. Remember last week when it was announced that Star Trek 3 director Roberto Orci was hired to help shepherd the new Power Rangers movie to the big screen with the assistance of X-Men: First Class screenwriters Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz? Well, Orci’s now saying that when this new Power Rangers flick arrives on the big screen, it will have a very important ingredient that will lead to universal success: continuity. “It’s got a continuity within the world,” says Orci. “I can’t tell you what, but it does have a continuity.” Which leads everyone who’s ever watched the series to say, “Power Rangers had continuity?” (more…)

GET IT RIGHT THIS TIME!
Don’t get me wrong, I love that campy movie and it’s sequels. Starship Troopers is on the list of movies that can “trap me” and steal a Saturday afternoon away from me before I know it, but I am a huge fan of the Heinlein’s book. When you compare the two you feel pretty much like the picture of them dissecting the bug above. My reaction is pretty much like Dennis’s character. She pukes her guts out over digging through the bugs guts.
In this remake I want:
BALD FEMALE PILOTS
RICO”S FATHER AS A CORPORAL
INDIVIDUAL POWER SUIT POD DROPS
Casper Van Dien, Dina Meyer, Denise Richards, Jake Busey, Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Muldoon and Michael Ironside starred in the original, in which Earth is at war with a race of giant alien insects. Maybe Casper or the others can get cameo roles, or perhaps play older officers.
I would love to see Ron Perlman or Ray Stevenson as Sergant Zim, Who would you cast in a remake?
Variety is reporting that the two of the X-men: First Class writers are in talks to write the long talked about Top Gun reboot/sequel. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are in negotiations with Paramount and Skydance Productions, with Jerry Bruchkheimer and David Ellison on board to produce. Obviously at this point details are slim to none, Tom Cruise’s and Tony Scotts involvement in the project is up in the air.
As for the plot, again no real information but pretty sure it will involve jets entering danger zones and possibly a homoerotic volleyball game.
